M Performance Exhaust

Hi all,

I apologize if I am posting in the wrong forum or if this has been discussed already.

I recently purchased 2012 BMW 135i. They have offered me an M Performance Exhaust for $1100 and would provide the labour for free. I am wondering whether any of you have information on the exhaust they are offering to me.

Perhaps there are some YouTube videos or other 135i owners who have the same exhaust can tell me a little bit about it before I confirm a purchase. Will it be much different from my stock exhaust? Also, is it worth the $1000 to get this exhaust?

This is the exhaust: https://www.ecstuning.com/Search/PER...Bmw/ES2165568/

Is this an M exhaust?

Warm regards,
135ifanatik

Yea, same exhaust. M Performance branding replaced BMW Performance but they are the same thing.

IMO 100% worth it, sounds intoxicating at full throttle

Thanks for the quick response. You wouldn't happen to have a YT vid could share with me?

I've seen many online but I am unsure whether it is the right one!

If you look up BMW Performance exhaust for the 135i there are a ton of YouTube videos for the exhaust you linked to.

I would if I were you. I have it and I think it sounds great! Nice deep tone, significantly louder than stock, but not obnoxiously loud, IMO. There are definitely louder exhausts out there, though.

Just talked to BMW, they said it comes with the whole exhaust system EXCEPT the cats... Should I still do it? Or are the cats the main part of the M Exhaust

Do it lol. BMW doesn't offer a cat delete, there are plenty of good aftermarket options for downpipes though.

The PE (perf exhaust) deletes the resonator and gives you a new muffler.

I have some good vids handy, I'll link them when I get home

Just confirm that it has the Y-pipe, which deletes the resonator and is an optional part. You want that.

My PE has the Y-Pipe. It was a standard part in my Performance exhaust pkg (like the one in your ECS link, OP) and I agree with Cavpilot2k that you should confirm that it's part of the exhaust they're selling you. It's part of the great sound the PE is known for.

PE is Y pipe (which removes resonator) and also a 'higher' flow muffler

Below are videos of my car with performance exhaust

I purchased from local BMW dealer and paid $1,088 + tax for the ypipe and muffer brand new from BW

Thank you everyone for being so supportive and informative. I really appreciate it! I will let you know tomorrow if it comes with the Y-pipe!

I LOVE my PE!! Its the best mod you can do on the 135i, other than CDV delete and a SSK, in my opinion.

Here is what my PE sounds like...

Wow, I loved watching this video. Not only for the PE sound, but for the beautiful scenery that Germany is known for.
