I've got a 995 beltronics, nice but not the best on the market, i got one speeding ticket in 4 years of owning it, and it's saved me countless times. The one above looks pretty slick, I just watched the video...now I'm thinking about getting one. let me know how it works if you buy one.

Dont have one, I have a sixth sense for cops and I dont know how....

I can always sense a cop in the near by area and always manage to slow down just before i reach them

I've got a passport srx. It's got the radar detector and laser shifter. I've never really been interested in radar detectors before; I don't usually go anymore than 10 over the speed limit. This one came with the car though. I may have to start driving faster to take advantage of it.

The car in front of me is my radar detector. It works 100% of time.

Very true, if you watch brake lights, you know when there is a cop cause EVERYONE taps their brakes even if they are going the limit

Ditto, no radar detectors and no tickets. The big caveat is that this really only works on roads that you are familiar with. If I had to regularly drive on unfamiliar roads I would probably get one. The main thing is you don't want to rely on it as being fool proof. If you drive fast you got to pay strict attention.

I have a Grecom Triple Trunking Scanner in my car, it works wonders on Highways thanks to Truckers who give away High Patrol Positions as they pass them...

If you want good info on radar detectors look for radarroy.com
His site is very informative, with different tests, buyers guide, and such. Because of his site i picked up my Beltronics STI Driver, it rated very high, and its undetectable by radar detector detectors, useful for states where detectors are illegal.

I have batteries in it, and carry the cord in the trunk, in case I need to use it in a rental. The nice part is it back-lit, and shows volts of my cars battery when plugged in.

It's not the one and only, like most V1 owners like to think. It is the only really huge one for 400 dollars, I'll give you that!

It's nice,,, but not easy to put above the mirror like others, and Mike Valentine needs to get off the high horse, and reduce the the late 90's] case, more than a liitle bit. Arrows are way over rated too...If you get shot from the side, you are done anyway, so what is the point.

The Escort models allow you to read 8 signals at once.

BAM!

I used this method successfully many times until once, south of Casper, Wyoming two years ago, I was the sixth and last vehicle in a 95+ MPH train of cars on the interstate, and they tagged me, most likely because I had out of state plates and they knew I wouldn't be fighting the ticket. He also wanted to see the license, registration, and insurance card which we had. And this was in my wife's MINI Cooper S - I think maybe I need to investigate a radar detector for the 135.

Valentine one is better. Arrows are key. Its always good to know which direction you are getting the signal from. You are never going to see 8 cops using their radars on the same road anyways(v1 can also detect multiple sources)

a) valentine can detect multiple sources
b) they arrows are crucial and can pick up sides as well
c) i have tried all the detectors and had friends with 9500ci, xi, and k40, all the others, none of them are as good as the v1. do you live in a state where they are illegal? use the visor mount if you need it that high
