Because they dont have to! Since most U.S. motorists seem to be too busy texting to even RTFM, BMW must feel that confusing us with useful data is counter-productive.

Same with my wife's new Ford which also annoys by not having an ambient temperature readout.

Agreed, it was included on my '89 SHO, but her 2010 Fusion doesn't have it. I can't even find it listed in the manual for the high end "Navi based Auto Climate Control" - whatever that is.

It does come with a compass display (optional on our Bimmers), so you know where you are going, even if you don't know how warm it is when you get there!

Quote "The tire warning system doesn't tell you which tire is low and display each tire's PSI."

Click on the low tire warning screen and an image of the car will display with the low tire highlighted. However, the pressures are not displayed and the TPMS must be reset to stop the warning.

So a car manufacturer should only seek to deliver the minimum in safety and convenience to the customer?

Is that what's made BMW a success so far - meeting the minimum?

Hmm.. I thought it did tell me which tire was low on the nav screen. Maybe it doesn't if you don't have nav?

I'm thinking of the time I was stranded away from home when a front tire blew out. If I had a tire blow out locally, I would most likely be able to drive home (within 50 miles) without needing the nav. If the tire warning is on due to cold weather related low tire pressure.. I put air in the tire.

http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=270346

I suppose recalibrating/resetting TPMS would clear the warning but I really didn't think of it with a blown tire because why would you want to calibrate the system for a blown tire? Then again, if it clears the warning.. I'll do it next time.

How about the wiper stalk being to close to steering wheel. Turning the steering wheel, part of my hand/finders "catch/trip" the wiper stalk. I end up with a burst of wiper fluid on the windshield and the wipers do nothing. This has happened 3 times. 2 were right after a 3 hrs of washing the car......GRRRRRRRRRRRR

Am I the only one who has an issue with the placement of the door handle.

So hard to open/close the door with the handle 6" from the front hinge. I would have at least liked a little recessed pull in the arm rest...

I want a standard style turn-signal stalk. This electronic version is so awkward to use.
Who blinks once, or three times (if set that way)? Unless you're one of those a$$holes who signals as he turns and gives no warnings, so why have that mode?

I use the 3 blink mode all the time to change lanes.

WTF? That's one of my favorite features on thsi car. Who DOESN'T use it is a better question!?
If you can't figure out how the turn signal stalk on these cars works, you shouldn't be driving.

Agreed. I love this feature. At first it was weird but now I have it on all my cars and is also one of my favourite features.

Been there. I got away with some minor blemishes on the back edge of the hood though, hardly noticable. Sounds like I was lucky.
