Just got mine back, seat belt tensioner replacement, and software update, but the version is not printed on the invoice. Can it be found either with the BT scan tool or in the secret codes area?

Confirmed work order b13 09 10 (this is not the update version, just a rok order number)

That was completes a couple of days ago and it's not as well powered as past version.
Just talk to my SA and according to him they are three recalls on my car (2009 135) one of them is DME Flash 2.38.2.0.1 software upgrade.

I just purchased my '08 135i last month, August 9th. It was in for an inspections before I bought it and the dealer did a bunch of recall work including a software update. I just checked it via the directions on another thread and I got: SW A3.45.82
The work order: SIB 13 09 10
Are you guys saying that there's been another update since last month?

My invoice doesn't say which software version it was updated to. It just says:

"B13-09-10 Software Update SIB 13.09.10..."

Fuel pump prime is still active like before.

Call or email your service advisor. He should easily be able to tell you what it was upgraded to. The version I have is E89X-10-03-504 and well, it sucks.

My 2010 135i is also a 9/09 build and when I took it in to ask a question, the SA said that there is a software update for the N54 that deals with starting in cold weather. The HPFP replacement earlier in the year also had that SW upgrade. Oh yea, they also will do the seat belt tensioner and a couple other campaigns not yet done on it.

What's this seal kit about, mine was broken then replaced and now it chipping away a little around the edges.

Yes, Kuni is my dealer. I've been very pleased with their sales and service.

When I asked what the numbers mean, my Service Tech said the 10-03 stands for the software date, so yours is March 10. Mine is 10-06, so June 10. He said different cars have different versions based on the way the car is equipped. But what do I know?

that's soooo bizarre, kuni is my dealer as well, and my car is still on the original software from march '08. been in for service 3 times for oil and recall stuff. they've never mentioned the software needing updating. i guess if it ain't broke they don't fix...?

great dealership though, i've been very please with their service.

This must mean that BMW issues updates on only certain cars per unit time, presumably to prevent a flood of cars from coming in at once. My car had been in 3 weeks earlier too, for the tail light fix, and I even asked specifically about software updates, and they said none had been issued. This despite the fact the the software update is dated June 10.

Yea, I've not had any campaign work done on it yet, but the HPFP went out this spring, so I got the latest-greatest plus the software upgrade then; still, it wasn't tagged for campaign work until I stopped in last week to ask about another service matter. The tail light and seat-belt tensioner were the two other open campaigns the SA mentioned.

Yes, Kuni provides great sales and service!

Am I the only one that's going to stay far, far away from this recall as long as possible? Like maybe until next June when my next annual oil service will be due.

Odd, I thought, since I was just in a month prior and had gotten what I thought was the latest update (the one where the fuel pump is primed when you hit the unlock key).

Got in and drove it home. HOLY EXPLETIVE, BATMAN! So much more responsive in every gear. Power delivery seems to come on early with none of the lag or delay I was experiencing with the last update. Everything just feels more linear. Truly improved in every way.

Has anyone else been in service within the last couple weeks and gotten a software update?

Also of note, which I have not confirmed, but I believe the fuel pump priming at unlock has also went away.
Wut 'chu talkin 'bout Willis!
PLEASE, give the update data info number.

I'm due for seat best recall and 2 new rear lights.
I would LOVE a new/BETTER software.

Since I've had mine, I don't like it.
Power has come back somewhat, but the lag SUCKS.

The "lag" I speak of is not off the line turbo lag.
It's the lag between pressing the throttle and the power responding.
I've run multiple runs testing this out and it's always the same.
I'll be in 2nd gear at 4k rpm, steady throttle, and then WFO, there is a distinct "uh, hum" from the engine, the GO.

I have a manual, so it's not the slushbox.
Same in 3rd at 4 or 5k. Steady throttle, light accel, then WFO, slight forward progression then about 1 second later, GO!
Throttle response in this situation is awful, pure crap from before.

Please, someone else confirm this gentlemans wonderful news!

This is the lag I was getting before my software update as well. It was terrible. I just e-mailed my SA to see if he can confirm what software version my car was updated to.

After driving my car some more today, everything I said in the OP stands true. I actually feel as though I have gained HP. I had a shit-eating grin on my face after doing some WOT's in 6th gear on the freeway today. Throttle response and power delivery is better than it's ever been.

I'll update when I hear back from my SA.

I got mine back and yes i noticed the software upgrade. you'll also like the low tire warning which actually shows a diagram of your car and points to which tire is low. man i love my 1er even more. BTW the seatbelt tentioner recall was worth it.

I got the snazzy new low tire diagram/icon two software updates ago. It was pretty cool, except for the fact that I had a slow leak and ended up buying four new tires.
