A turbo-car will always have turbo lag, period. I'm not saying I disagree and the new 2.0T is bad, I happen to really like turbos, and lag doesn't bother me, obviously. (I have a 135i) |

I use my car as DD and attend various weekend track days. I upgraded many items in my car to improve handling. I am loving it. I just wish it was lighter but oh well.

Love my 2008 128i. It's got over 40,000km, driven daily, rain, shine or snow(have 16 inch rims with snowies - 18 inch rims with shi**y RFTs), auto with paddles, sport seats, suspension, etc. Everytime I get in and hit the start button, it makes me smile. Just replaced brake pads with Monroes and they are just as good as the BMW pads, but less than 1/2 the price. Only issue so far is the 3rd brake light (trunk mounted) falling out on the ground. I'm gonna take it in shortly quoting a TSB. Both my wife and I love the heated seats, the steering feel and the drivetrain especially. The kids are not happy in the back, but who cares...

Love it. Bought it for the wife but drive it instead of our C320 when we go out! Here's a couple reasons not brought up yet: Suspension is more user friendly (softer ) than the 135i for people who drive more in town. Non staggered tires last longer being able to rotate. I prefer NA power delivery over turbo. Only problem has been windows, repeatedly

I love my 128i. The i6 is silky smooth. It is more then quick enough to beat a ricer to 60 if I need to, but dont get into too much trouble.
Really love this car. Only complaint so far, been in twice for Check engine light. Intake temp sensor gone. |

I have a 2011 128i that I purchased in July and I love it! More than enough power, way better mileage than I thought, smooth and comfortable with terrific handling. What a blast in the snow, too! Easy to toss around with the BMW steering feel. Having said that, a few random rattles are driving me NUTS, but I will have them looked at.
On the 135 comment, a white one pulled up beside me (mine is white too). I was prepared to nod or whatever since we r both in wht 1ers, but he paid absolutely no attention to me. Actually stuck his nose in the air and sped off, cutting another car off - showed me the demon that possesses some BMW drivers lol. The associate I bought the car from said, "don't expect anyone to let you through in traffic..." and now I know why haha. But seriously, I am loving my 128i. Just can't wait until spring when I can wash her by hand! I wish I could afford to have the 1 and my last car at the same time, though. I sure miss my 2008 Mazda mx-5 gt prht 6mt. But the 1er is much more practical and almost as fun to drive. |

While I love my 135, I'm never bummed when I have to get behind the wheel of it's little brother.
There is something intoxicating about BMW il6's, and now knowing that this will be the last 2dr compact il6 BMW will make (for the foreseeable future) don't let us x35i owners rain on your parade... besides we are all just compensating! |

Got a 2011 Z4 Sdrive30i today as a loaner and let me say this is the motor that should have been in the 128i. I dont know what tweaks they did to up the HP to 255 in the N52, but in sports mode this motor feels and responds better than in the 128i. It's an awesome NA motor.

I'm happy for the fact that soon enough bmw is gonna change the n/a 6 to a 4 cylinder turbo so we have one of the last i6's in a small car maybe?
