First 1er coupe on the road. (in melb)
Hi, hav been following this forum for quite a while (since i saw the 135i at the melb motor show) n today saw a sapphire black 135i fly past (intersection of ferntree gully where all the petrol stations are, brandon park)
neways i thought i might mention it seeing that most who hav ordered their cars are expecting may delivery. I also woz wonderin cud this car hav been a dealer car, as it was not the blue one at the motor show and afaik there are no dealers close to the glen waverley area. cud sum1 hav been delivered a 1er already? |

Head office of BMW Australia is just down the road on Springvale Rd. I would guess this is a BMW Australia car and probably lend to a member of the press. But no, customer cars aren't getting delivered till May.

Apparently one or more 135i s have been floating around in Australia since late last year as the parts manager at my local dealer said that he and a few other staff drove the car long before it appeared at the Brissie show.

Hey farug, I find it very facinating that someone who owns a current S-class and the previous S-class is buying a 135i. I would have thought that you would be more interested in a luxo barge like CL for example. Is this going to be your fun car? That is what my 135i is going to be.

hi way,
i knew someone eventually wud ask but the s-classes are my parents'. the older one (S430) my mum's. once i get my p's in a couple of months i should be pickin up a 1er. it seems to be the best car for the 70-80k price range oh thought i might add that i do drive both cars all the time, and for some weird reason i really like the 430. its not a monster lyk the new 500 but is extremely confortable to drive. |

I had a W221 S500 as a hire car for a week in Germany last year, and that thing is very comfortable on the bahn. I cruised at 250kmh with absolutely no stress. Love it. I nearly bought a 2 year old W220 S350 for the missus as our baby carrier, but she found it to be far too big having come from a Golf GTI. The funny thing was watching her during the test drive. She took the corner far too fast for the car, and you can just feel the massive bodyroll. She said that is the speed she takes the corners with her GTI, and she just isn't used to such mass and size. Haha.

HAHAHAA.that is so typical for somebody who has never been in an s-class. they are lyk being on a boat, even when sports mode is turned on. havin driven them for almost two yrs now nearly everyday, you just become used to it, though now for my car i want somethin small, quick as well as luxurious. My dad lookd at me funny when i showed him that i liked this car. He has owned benz's all his life and has owned the 140, 220 and now the 221

Yeah she was driving it with the sports mode on! Haha. We ended up getting a X3 M sports and ordered a C63 which we think would suit our sporting driving character a lot better.

Probably one o the first cars they are using for press... with May not that far off I'd be tipping they'd be looking at a June edition write up in Motor/Wheels/Unique Cars, etc.
Generally they give their cars a week or two internally before letting it loose with the press. |
