N55 intake suggestions

Hi guys,
What is your opinion/experience on the performance increase from these intake products?

Also, does this void warranty or insurance? (still can't work out if pod filters are legal in Vic - something about only being able to do one intake mod?)

BMS cold air intake (10whp)

AMS front mount intercooler (10whp)

Assume hp gains will increase with boost

they will void warranty depending on how lenient your dealer is.

do you have any tune? your boost is not going to increase with those parts.

Sorry let me clarify re boost; I plan to do a flash tune probably when COBB release their AP. These mods will help the higher boost with their higher flow and lower temps, which will further increase hp.

Have you had any issues with your dealer on warranty?

Never taken it to the dealer since I was fully modded to be honest - the last warranty claim I had was HPFP and injector recall and that was when I had only the procede installed.

No issue there - but now that I am FBO with COBB not sure how well the dealer will take it if I bring it in for a warranty claim

I have been sniffing around and it seems still early days yet for N55, but more and more coming out as time is passing.

FMIC + intake will help especially if increasing boost, but if you're worried about warranty then this is probably not the best path. For warranty claims to be denied the dealer has to prove mods caused the issue, and the dealer will probably not make life easy if you need to claim and it's engine or drivetrain related and you have extensive mods under the hood (plenty of extensive threads on this topic).

Anyhows here's another intake option (video on second link), but not cheaper...

I am a little worried about warranty but I can't seem to think of a great argument for how high efficiency filter / heat exchanger can lead to a fault - but yes, they might not make it easy on me.

Yes I saw the price difference, can't say I'm convinced the aFe is worth 3x the money
