Hmm, I was hoping for a new twist on the horror genre, and unfortunately this isn't it. Looks entertaining, though

Agreed. Definitely along the lines of: The Ring and Candyman. But, both of those are all-time favs! I like the genre. As long as the writers and directors can put their own twists on it. Horror flicks do very well at the box office. I guess folks like being scared...
I will say a couple of entertaining ones recently:

Don't Breath
Lights Out

Don't waste your time with QUIJA

Have you seen "It Follows" or "Cabin in the woods?"

No need to pay to be scared. All i have to do is think about my S65 and i have immediate thoughts of death and destruction. DO NOT say or think S65!

But of course! Cabin In The Woods is absolutely incredible!

It Follows was truly unsettling. They are working on a sequel titled 'Follow It'

Supposedly they try and track the source of this curse/entity.

This movie looks dumb. I watched "It Follows" as well and it was probably one of the worst scary movies I have seen. I was not even scared. The Ring was freaking stupid as shit. The Grudge (Japanese version) was scary at parts. Only movie that has ever freaked me out was the first Paranormal Activity (the last 10-15 mins).

Funny thing is... Paranormal Activity was lame as fuk to me. But I'm not a fan of "found footage" at all.
Horror is not for everyone. But It Follows is universally considered among the best horror movies of the past decade!
