Things you didn't know about...
I'm sure there was a thread along these lines but I can't find it anywhere.....
Anyway, just thought I'd publicise the fact that the interior of the armrest is "chilled" by the aircon - so if you put a can in the holder there it will be nice and ... It was a new bit of info for me...but no doubt all you guys are well aware of it in which case

It might be controlled by that little black button/switch. Some have said it might open/close the vents.

Elsewhere, there are reports of an overheating cell phone in its holder in the armrest. Would this solve that problem by keeping the phone cool?

Another "neat" thing I found this weekend: filters for the water going off the windshield and under the hood. It lifts out and you can dump the accumulated leaves, etc. One on each side, just follow the water path into the corner (someday I'll get the digital camera connected again)

I'll feel really stupid if everyone knew about this and I didn't up until now, but did you know that the clown nose turns and that's how you dim your rear view mirror if you don't have the premium package? I just found this out today, and I have the car almost 3 months already!!! The first night I drove the car I noticed the mirror didn't dim by itself, but then I tried pulling and pushing the clown nose and it didn't move. I thought the only way to dim the mirror was just to manually adjust the thing to reduce the glare. I thought other than that there was no other way to dim it. I tried turning it and low and behold it dimmed the mirror!!! I guess like the saying goes, "if all else fails, read the manual" because after I figured this out, I saw that they did mention it in the manual.

I took my manual to the Dr. office and the airport, for a little "light" reading. That's where I found out about the clown nose turning. I too was dumbstruck that I couldn't dim the mirror.

My avatar is a pic of the old Bethlehem Steel factory. Back when I was down there in college, I used to go jogging on the Minsi Trail on the other side of the Lehigh River, with this giant factory off in the distance. It was really cool...like something right off of a Pink Floyd album cover. So I snapped some pics of it and use it for my avatar....if you care, and if your question was directed to me! |

Sorry this is kind of but,
The factory is in Bethlehem, PA. After the Philadelphia and Pittsburgh areas, the Allentown/Bethlehem/Easton metro area is the thrid largest metro area in PA. Ever hear the song "Allentown" by Billy Joel? Billy Joel and Tom Cruise both have houses in Bethlehem. I loved it down there while I was in school. Bethlehem steel went bankrupt about 15-20 years ago, but that place was crazy...it had a few zip codes all of its own, its own fire department, etc. Anyway, the entire factory is still standing, but they're talking about building like an amphitheatre on the site, but still plan to keep those towers in the background to preserve the history and atmosphere of the site. sharp1183, I didnt know that you can dim your mirror; in fact I thought you need the pp for that. This is really good news because it would have been painful driving at night, so thanks a lot
i do have a silly question though: what is the clown nose? is it the red bulb that hangs from the mirror? Quote:
