My Black 1M - ONEighty Headlights
Like so many members before me, let me say that I have been lurking and reading all your mod posts for years ... I thought it was about time to post some photos of my own.
I bought my first 1, a BSM 135i, back in 2008 for "Year One of the One" and enjoyed it for 2 road trip filled years including a night cruise through Times Square (back when it was open), the Finger Lakes, Lake Superior, Skyline Drive, Tail of the Dragon, the Big Easy, and as far down as Miami. Then in December of 2010, I put down my deposit for a 1M getting the coveted 3rd and final spot on my dealer's allocation list. That spot, however, never came and I moved on to a Cayman that I modded and thoroughly enjoyed until 2013 when I found my ideal 1M with only Harman Kardon and 7000 miles of previous use. I've kept it simple, but here are the facts: - BSM 1 Series M Coupe - July Production - IND Black Painted Grille and Side Markers (sans tint) - BMW Stainless Pedal Set (#35000410099) - bmwpartspros.com - Revised Fender Liners - bmwpartspros.com - H&R Springs - Michelin PSS in 255/35 & 275/35 - LED Headlights by ONEighty in Matte Black & Gloss Black The photos (some courtesy of ONEighty): Last edited by ///Nico; 03-13-2014 at 01:30 PM.. Soooo beautiful!
What's your thoughts on the h&r Springs? I been tempted to install them but I had a terrible experience in the past with 'sport after market Springs on stock suspension. |

I've had the springs for a little over 1000 miles, including an 8 hour freeway drive and some nice twisting roads in NC/GA, and I don't have any complaints. To me, the car feels more planted and the ride quality is the same. The aesthetic benefit speaks for itself. For $600 installed, I would do it again without hesitation. |

I live in NYC near Columbia, but the 1M is garaged down south for the winter... 1 more month. I've seen another BSM 1M drive by my work in Harlem on 5th, but only once. |

Very nice BSM 1M and just the right/must have mods to keep things simple and clean, nothing overdone.
But, that car as it stands needs the blacklines to make it a perfect looker imho. Welcome.

Toughest decision for me going for BSM over AW. I loved the first photos that came out of the AW 1M in Belgium I think. |

Great pics and nice car. Can you give us more details on the headlights? Did ONEeighty open them up to remove the amber corners and paint black/install the LEDs? How much was it?

Thank you for your comments.
ONEighty lights are expensive, but the work is top notch and Artem, the owner, is a pleasure to work with. They do indeed open the headlights up, which is the bulk of the work because our E82 headlights are much more difficult to open than the 3 series lights. Check out their work log on this thread: http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=723199 They charged $400 for the opening of the lights and then the individual customization options go from there. They use full LED rings that cost $300 to replace the glass halogen tubes that the cars come with. What makes their LED rings different from their competitors, is the individual LED lights are evenly spaced on both different sized rings and the color is more of a true crisp white than a blue. As I understand, the corner reflector isn't removed, but painted over. With that being said, you could just have them painted silver to have them mimic the euro headlights. I went with the following options: Total Cost for Headlights ($1100) - 5000k LED rings; full circle rings. - housing painted flat black - corner bowl and inside reflector painted flat black - jet gloss black eyebrow - jet gloss black headlight shrouds - projector light rim untouched grey with factory text left alone. - they performed all the removal and installation because I'm local. As an added benefit, they also coded out the amber corners on the daytime running lights to give more of a DTM appearance when driving with just the LED halos showing. I am not affiliated with ONEighty is any way. Let me know if you have any more questions. |

I picked AW over BSM after I saw this Belgian 1M. But everytime I see a BSM one I love it! Ideal situation would be to own both... (or even all three colors) |

Thank you! I only noticed rubbing once in the front on full lock in reverse right after installation, but I think it was because the revised liner was very stiff new. Never any rubbing going forward and I am lowered 1.2" in the front.

Thank you. I spent many hours researching the headlight options, and I decided on what I consider the best. The eyebrows are painted inside the glass; the 2 individual headlight photos in my original post were taken before the lights were sealed back up.
