2E0F Valvetronic Adjustment Error

Had this a while back and had the system reprogrammed, went away and was back to normal for a while. Same code now back w engine malfunction and permanent code being stored 2E0F.

Must be something else that needs replacing or fixing since the reprogramming only held it at bay for a few months.

Any ideas?

High rev start ups, loud starts from cold, drivability seems normal just get engine malfunction lights off and on that clear themselves out after a little driving. Help?

Having the same issue. Pretty sure I have been running off just the throttle body for quite some time now. Even did the relearn procedure and it only lasted for a month. Wondering if we should just change out the VVT motor with a relearn in hopes of not having to reflash the dme or worse, change the eccentric shaft out.lol

You just replace the VVT motor and it worked out?

It's highly unlikely that there is damage to the eccentric shaft or camshaft just because the valvetronic motor stopped working. It's an electric motor which sees a ton of amps/heat in order to quickly spin the eccentric shaft. It just burns out over time. Replace it, or, unplug it when the car is off which should keep the eccentric shaft at max lift (that's where it defaults to when the car is off on the N55).

2nd this. I replaced mine and had the shaft upside down and didn't wreck anything and I even inspected it myself at the indy shop when they did the work to flip the shaft around. BMW does say to change the shaft but honestly its just not needed unless you have like 400,000kms on the engine.

Have you checked the connection and remove the cover to see if some oil is coming out of the shaft area where the seal is? if the connections get oil on them from the harness, you can replace the harness for about $100 from BMW. Thatcould be the source, casing issues with the connection due to oil being at the connect between the harness and VVT motor.
