btw, ride is not too bad with the soft suspension on the 1er anyway, although it is definitely a lot better with non-rft.

I might pay $100/year for the insurance but I was offered a price far north of that, which I declined. It seems like you can only buy this insurance through a dealer. I have not found any policies online. As someone else noted, flats are rare for most drivers even in big cities.

Although I've driven only 400 miles so far I have no complaints about the run-flats. I also drove through a torrential thunderstorm yesterday for about 50 miles and did not have any traction problems. I think a manual transmission helps in that department.

Did you get this deal through the dealership?

I can conclude that I am not happy with them. Got 18,000 miles on the first set of rears. Replaced them with OEM Bridgestones in March 2009. I now need another set after only 8,000 miles (August 09). And it isn't like I was tearing up the streets or tracking the car. If anything, I look it easier on this set.

I'm guessing I can easily get another 5-7k out of them, maybe more.

Right now I'm having a debate with myself about buying snow tires, and a set of summers, or buying summers and a beater, or just looking for excuses to use a company vehicle every time it snows.

I ended up buying a set of Blizzak LM-25s along with 17" rims for winter duty. (I was never happy with the way all-seasons performed on my FWD cars, so I just budgeted for te expense when I got the 1er.) What size are you running--215/40 + 245/35?

i have an 09' 135 .. I swapped the stock RFT front left and right tires. Would this cause pulling to the left issues? Just wondering.
