I was hesitant when speaking with E90sexion as he said they were ready to ship when I paid last week, then I tried to call AluFelgen with no answer for days, the voicemail forwards to a completely different areacode and no mention of the company name, and I got a little nervous that I might have got scammed.
After several hours of reading, I have read this entire thread, man what a story for the ages. I work for a small engineering firm and we do all the development and manufacturing ourselves in a similar fashion to AluFelgen so I understand the time involved with the product, but I can still see the frustration in the lack of communication voiced here. I feel for you guys! All I can say is, I'm sure it will be worth it as these are some awesome looking rims. I hope they ship out this week and we are all in a much better mood next week. I was close to asking a refund and I didn't understand the depth of the delays etc in the GB, I give you guys props for sticking it through. I hope I can figure out some tire sizes now! |

Have you looked at the info that I posted regarding the tire sizes? (couple pages back) I am still running the two sample wheels on my car that is lowered with Eibach springs and shocks. I have driven with up to four people in the car with no issues at all. I am running General Exclaim UHP 225/35/19 front 265/30/19 rear. They have great tread wear and are not too expensive. You could try a 265/30/19 rear from another brand and see if they fit (we already know that the Vredstein do not).
Or you could simply go 255/30/19 (with 225/35/19 front) which was the originally intended size and these will offer the closest to stock diameter to maintain gearing/speedo. Good luck Quote:

There are just too many brands and sizes to pick from. I will likely go with the safe choice now, a 225/35 and a 255/30 to make sure I have no issues and keep the outer diameters close to stock as possible, but I really want to get a 235/265 in there. I guess I can live without it. I'm kinda happy with the 225/255 if I can get the right grip levels, I'm not sure of AD08 this far north, but I'm thinking Michelin SS. Just too confused. Waiting to see what the Guinea pigs do and what goes from there. I'm stock suspension atm, but want to get into something better soon. |

I'm fairly confident based on what I'm seeing on my setup that for those that are willing to roll fenders and play around a little with alignment that pretty much all 235/35/19 and 265/30/19 tires could be made to fit without too much effort. I'm real happy with the setup so far, just gotta get that other half on there

Call me cautious, but I'm nervous about getting a set of tires that I don't have the funding or know-how to make fit or function the way I want them to.
I'm also not 100% sure how the different tires fit on the width of the rim. It seems several rim widths can fit the same size tires easily, but I've not driven on stretched tires so I'm not sure if I would like or dislike the performance of the different tire fittings to know which way I would like. I want feedback between the tires and my hands and ass, but I don't want squishy sidewalls. That being said, I don't want to hit a small pothole and wreck the rim or the tire. I don't plan to be reckless though. I also am not overly concerned about the wear, but I don't know how a stretched tire or one squeezed onto a rim too narrow actually feel. How do the sidewalls look on your 235/265 combo? |

I am with you and understand what you mean...if you are not comfortable doing the mods that might be needed I would just stick to the recommended sizes.
When I first started this process I had no problem rolling the fenders and/or adjusting a bit of neg camber to make them fit if needed. I took the risk and ordered 265's even after the first test with the Vred' 265's was a no go. I am happy I did because these puppies fit with no problem at all, no mods needed...even being lowered. I am running 225/265. The tires fit the wheels very well. The 225 size has a recommended wheel width of 7.5" to 9" Approved Rim Width: 7.5 - 9.0 The 265 tire has a recommended wheel width of 9" to 10" Approved Rim Width: 9.0 - 10.0 Quick video below...sorry about the video quality it was done with my phone...also the wheels are pretty full of brake dust ..... I am thinking of getting 235/265 Hankook V12. I was planing on lowering, but not anymore. So I am assuming there is zero rubbing at all?
Also what do you guys use for the TPMS? stock or purchase another set? |
