Installing my 335i's Procede to my new 135i ?
No, I don't have the 135i yet, but I am first on the list in my market. I will be trading the 335i in for it.
Does anyone think/know if I can remove the procede from the 135i and install it in the 335i? I would think so, but I am concerned because: 1) The 535i procede is listed as a different product on the Vishnu website (though this may just be marketing, and may be exactly the same product) 2) The newer 335is cannot take the V2 of the chip because apparently BMW has installed physical devices that make it more difficult / impossible to install the procede. Has anyone got their hands on a 135i to see if it is physically possible to place the procede box in place? |

Shiv doesn't even know this yet. Hopefully no additional modifying is needed to fit our cars because as soon as I break it in, I'm injecting the 'roids.
As far as the '08's not handling the V2, first I've heard of this. There are people who have '08's and V2 installed no? |

There's no way I would risk my spanking new car on installing something on the ECU before the Vishnu said it was fine to do so, that was specifically designed for the 335i (same motor, but the 535i needs a different setup than the 335i).

We'll see. But Dinan is overrated regardless.

I'll be lucky if I can make it past the 90 day mark. I have the boost bug real bad. I have set a limit on my amount of mods to no more than 5, not including small misc items, and wheels and tires.

Ditto. As little as I drive the car might accrue 5K after 12 months.
Perhaps, but, BMW supports Dinan mods. For me, that is significant.

I thought Dinan dealers support dinan mods, not any BMW dealer. The dinan waranty replaces your BMW warranty is the way I understand it. I could be wrong.

The problem with the Dinan warranty will likely be finger pointing. Also, any non-Dinan part you put on the car (except BMW OE) voids the warranty as well.

-engine damage resulting from altered boost pressure. Source: http://www.dinancars.com/Warranty.asp So if you get the flash and your engine blows it looks like you're s.o.l. Personally I have no problem with that as I firmly believe in the "pay to play" theory. However for all the people who wave the " but dinan offers a warranty" flag I would think this would be cause for concern. |
