I stated that i did not know anything specific about the n54. i was merely going off of what i knew from prior experience. no need to be rude.

The N54 is not use L-Jetro. It is D-Jetro or sometimes called speed density. We do not have MAF sensors! (thank god) Adding a BOV will have no effect on the tune or drivability of the car.

BOV's don't open in the presence of boost, wastegates do that. BOV's open when there is a change in pressure between the intake manifold and charge pipes.
sick. now theres only one thing wrong with getting a BOV that has nothing to do with the engine.

Sorry if i came across as rude. Those were not my intentions. Your assumptions were correct for the subies but not for the n54.

Infinite, that black HKS SSQV looks perfect in that engine bay. Much better than silver IMO.

I used a Nemsis on one of my customer cars (MR2). Very robust system. My single gripe about the Hydra is the upload/download speed takes forever and a day so tuning goes slow. But it has all the features you'd want in a ECU... and then some.

I'll get flamed for this but... too bad we didn't get a proper suspension setup like the Miata...... You know what I'm talking about!

I got the HKS SSQV BOV as well, and I have had no negatives so far. I love it, now I just gotta get the HKS dual filter set ups..but that'll be on the next one, since this one is going back to stock and getting returned until I return from Iraq next year.

There's a strong possibility that the guy that blew apart the motor in his 335i causing $26k in damage was using aftermarket Blow off valves that were either faulty or adjusted incorrectly. That's supposedly the conclusion BMW came to when they told him his repair bill was going to be "THIS BIG".

Mod with care I guess is the point. (Somebody will always blow their turbocharged engine apart though because they're basically careless. That's been happening long before I owned my first turbo car.)

The "gain" in throttle response is all in your head. BOV's do nothing for performance at all, they simply prevent compressor surge.

Do you even know how they work?

Welcome to 1Addicts, DRock! A word to the wise -- most of us around here expect people new to the forum to display somewhat more tact than you have in your first post.

read my entire post please..i installed intakes also..of course my bov had nothing to do with throttle response ..any idiot knows that and i assumed any reader would have the intelligence to assume the throttle response was a result of the intakes and not BOV...apparently i didnt take into consideration DROCK!!...im not new to modding my friend..sheesh seems like some people just waiting to bust balls..enjoy
