Question E90Post Forum Reader for Mobile (iPhone, BlackBerry, Palm, etc.) ...

Wondering how many of you access the forums today on your cellphones. If you're like me that's fairly often. With the iPhone the forum is accessible but the problem is the annoyance of zooming in/out every time you want to read content, browser crashing and very hard to use search.

I'm working on a forum reader app that I was planning to use for myself to have more pleasant access to the forums when on the go. I'm now wondering whether I should wrap it into an iPhone app so you guys can get access to it as well.

I've looked at it on iPhone, Palm, Blackberry and G1s outthere and zooming in/out is what really annoys me. Its not too crazy on the iPhone and G1 but when you're trying to read the posts you have to zoom in first, then scroll left to right to read posts. Unless you've got 30/20 vision I think a better format to the site, at least for me, would be cool.

Other phones than iPhone and G1, such as BBerries and many others have either a really tough time opening the site or just crash.

I'll post some sample pics soon to show you guys what I mean.

I use a Windows mobile device, and have tried Opera and IE, and reading forums is a PITA on both. You can do it, but the zooming sucks so I don't.

Thanks for all the positive feedback...i've started working on it and I can tell you it's looking great...will post some screenshots soon....

It'll be packaged in an iPhone/BlackBerry app and delivered through the the app stores but a version of it will also be available through your mobile browsers with optimized presentation/navigation/search for mobile screens...
