BMW Clear Protective Covering
Has anyone ordered/installed the BMW Clear Protective Covering (the one on the BMW Accessories site)? If so, does the bumper kit cover the the entire front (i.e. bumper, scoops, etc)?
I know that there are aftermarket possibilities out there, but in Germany my choices are kind of limited. The installer that was recommended to me said I should try to purchase the kit from the states to save money...

I avoided driving on any highway (except for the autobahn during ED ) until I had the protective clearcoat installed. BMW does not sell it for the 128i bumper but my local dealer actually used an official 3M kit which is backed by a 5 year warranty.
I highly recommend this as it gives me extra piece of mind when I'm decimating the insect population of SW Florida. I can rub as hard as I want to the front bumper, hood, and mirror caps to remove the bugs without worrying about scratches. The only downside is that it causes some whistling around the mirrors when you faster but you really have to listen for it. The cost was about $650 but is worth every penny and you have to really look at it to see the difference. Also, it is guaranteed not to yellow, crack or peel and it's 3M so you know some egghead did the research. I've seen the same thing on the front of numerous Ferraris at the Cavallino Classic so you know it's a trusted product. Hope this helps. Let me know if you want some pics.

Wow you got that much protection for $650? That's a KILLER deal. I paid ~$1300 for full bumper, full fenders, full hood, mirrors, and the portion of the rocker panels that's inside the wheel well.

i think covering the entire hood is overkilled if you're on a budget. I paid $500 for my partial hood/partial fenders/full bumper/fogs/headlights/mirrors kit installed on my 128i.

I have a clearbra on a AW 135i. I'll be honest, it does not look as "clean" as other colored cars, but its still really good. You do, however, have to keep good care of it and clean it every so oftern with Q-tips and what not. Waxing it also makes it look a lot more like your paint.
