135i converted 1M/M3 Suspension Wheel Help
Hello Guys/Gals!
Currently looking to purchase some Apex Arc-8 wheels for my 135i converted car. Does anyone have any idea what the best specs should I purchase for my vehicle? This is what's done to the car. M3 Rear Subframe Conversion w/ 1M/M3 Hub/Caliper M3 Front Suspension w/ 1M/M3 Hub/Caliper Does the 135 and 1m/m3 hubs differ? Pushing the offset inside or out? |

I've done the 1M conversion, as you have, but also did the front fenders and bumper. This allows me to run a 255 tire at all corners with some room to spare. At the moment, I am running the stock upper strut mounts and these give me -1.9 degrees camber. I had started with the Vorschlags but I saw no need in going to -3.5.
The rear hub change pushes the hub faces inboard by 10 mm. I ran the stock wheels iniatially with a 10mm spacer until I sorted things out. As for wheels, here's what I run. Mind you, I have the 1M front fenders but not rear. Square setup is 275/35-18 or 265/35-18 on 18 x 9.5 et 22 with full 1M body Stock rear quarters need 18 x 9.5 et 58 wheel (with 10mm spacer after M3 axles/hubs are put in). 248 or 245 offset works great without a spacer. That is what I run for winters. 275 tire is possible but 265 is easier to fit. Summer: Wheels: Apex ARC8 Anthracite 18 x 9.5 et22 front, et58 rear Tires: 255/35-18 x 4 Winter: Wheels: Apex EC-7 Anthracite 18 x 8.5 et45 front and rear. 10mm spacer in front Tires: 235/40-18 x 4 Stock 135: Front 215/40-18 on 7.5 x 18 et 49 Rear 245/35-18 on 8.5 x 18 et 52 Stock 1M: Front 245/35-19 on 9 x 19 et 31 Tire pressure F & R up to 100mph = 34psi Rear 265/35-19 on 10 x 19 et 25 Tire pressure over 100mph: F=37psi R=40psi

I'll PM you in regards of the wheels. I'm looking to do both the front and rear conversion. So I might take them from your hands since APEX is in backorder. |

I did the 1M/M3 swap a few years ago and I’ve been incrementally increasing tyre size since then.
I run Apex Arc-8’s in the typical 135i fitment and use a 10mm spacer at the rear (due to the 10mm change in offset when moving from the 135i setup to M3) I’m up to 245/35/18 front and 275/35/18 rear (MPSS) I think a 255/35/18 front might just fit, 275/35/18 is the absolute limit on the rear on my car. The increase in tyre width has made a big positive difference to the car, especially the fronts IMO See here if you’re interested in my build, I’ve put over 50k enjoyable miles on it since then: https://app.photobucket.com/u/Griff50078 |

I would not recommend this to anyone who drives on the street more than the track. |

Thanks! I was considering SM-10’s in that size because I think they look really good, but I’m glad I went for EC-7’s now. The M1.5 looks great!
