Rear interior all in and now to hammer down on the front. Decided to use the M3 center console vs the 1M, way easier to get all the bits in place and bolts right in!

Get the center console ready for final install, struggling to find a clean center section. GTS arm rest delete was a nice little find!

Interesting enough the sedan back cap fits the rear so waiting for one of those to come in too. Time to get some boots made.

Waow, electrical and mechanical compatibility. More than decade old platform, and still learning … !

Really keen to see how the edc performs when connected to the wheel angle sensor. A previous edc adoption on an e82 had to reprogram an X5 sensor to get it oem level functionality.

Sadly you can’t. The other option was to keep the M3 cluster but it would require hacking up the cluster mounts.

Can't is a strong word. I think it would theoretically work just fine but the tach is going to run out of scope and some of the M lights and things obviously won't work. The CAN bus packets are exactly the same between the E82 and E9x other than the addition of a couple M Mode packets in the M3.

What you're describing is a non-functional cluster. MDM is implemented differently between MSD81 and MSS60...

I'm well aware how MDM is implemented, the cluster does nothing but display the indicators. I'm quite sure the only things that wouldn't work are the green M and yellow MDM indicators. The tach and speedo, and OBC and all that would work fine.

Well, you may be aware of how MDM is implemented, but not logic apparently. You can't say that the cluster will work and then describe the parts of it that you know won't work... this is a logical fallacy.
