Tranny oil recommendations..

N55 daily here wich recently recvd a clutchmasters stage 3 clutch w/ matching lightweight fly..

Im at 40k miles and have had my few missed upshift gears and was wondering.. should and when and what i should get for a tranny oil change
First and foremost: should i do this even tho the mileage of the car given the aftermarket parts/ spirited driving since purchase??
Is this something that gets changed like oil every so often??
And then follow up q..
Do i go stock oem weight and brand?? Keep in mind the new bits and ofcourse that i live the..." if you aint first, your last" life!!
Thanks for for your 2 cents...

Redline actually recommends D4 ATF in BMW manual transmissions from 1993 onward.

I've been happy with it. And yes, 30K mile drain interval.

Yup, that's true. I originally decided on the slightly thicker D6 and had no complaints but to me, Mike Miller is the Bible and when he says MTL for all BMW manual transmissions that's what I switched to. Being another step slightly thicker than D6 might be a consideration in extremely cold weather but I'm in storage at that time. His reasoning is that MTL is a superior lubricant for long synchro life and since I'm in this car for the long haul that decided it for me. I can't say I feel any difference but "feel" was not the reason I switched.
