PTF does not charge for a retune with these FBOs unless you want maps for 100 octane or E85. |

Allen, can you explain VANOS tuning and how you go about making adjustments?

When first experimenting with VANOS tuning you have to spend a lot of time on a dyno. With VANOS tuning it's not as much about peak gains but how it can shift the power band and the same adjustments made at 5.5Krpms may not work at 3.5Krpms.

When N55 support is available I will create a new thread. I honestly expected it to be ready to go by now but things have been a little more difficult with DME comms than expected, which is disappointing.

You guys (PTF & Cobb) have done some really good write-ups concerning other aspects of tuning; but none detailing the intricacies of VANOS... Do you guys plan on doing something like that to assist some of the DIY'ers?

We stress the importance of a dyno in this situation because, honestly until you get a very good feel and understanding of it, you can end up chasing your tail and never catch it. |

Do you know if Cobb will ever allow ATR users to raise/adjust boost ceiling tables? It seems that if a person went out and purchased aftermarket turbos, and or build themselves a single turbo kit; it requires that person to have a PTF tune...

Would a custom PTF tune be "safer" to run on our cars (n55 in my case...). When i used to have a civic...I ran a custom tune over the base tunes people had up with Hondata because I heard that it was safer since it was tuned specifically for the car.
I only plan to do FBO on the 135i |
