South African owners - which fuel ?
Hi guys
Which brand of fuel are you guys filling up your E90 with ? I currently sticking to Shell V-power. Also , up here in JHB we get crappy 95 instead of 97. I'm seriously thinking of adding octane booster to my tank when I fill up - is this stuff safe ? Has anyone used it before ? |

Actually all Unleaded in JHB is 93 - by law ( even V-power)
Only from january 2006 is there 95 Unleaded when they take away 93 leaded I would just stay away from Sasol dual fuel at the moment since there are reports that the addetive that allows it to be used in leaded cars aswell creates a buildup on valves which can cause a bit of power loss |

Octane bosters that work are very expensive, and the cheap ones do nothing
The best ones will nly raise the octane a point or 2 rathr ust use normal pump gas and the the 95 when it arrives in January |

Thanks !
I didn't know we had 93 up here. Anyway , I plan to drive to Durban at the end of the month and we'll see how she performs with 97 at the coast then |

Engen was told to stop selling it, so they changed all their 95 pumps to the same name they used to call 97 to confuse people Its completely gone in cape town, and should just about be gone in Durban |

Weird. What would you suggest as far as diesel is concerned? I know we get the different sulphur %...but which one is better for the engine? and which "brand" makes the best?

New legislation next year will ban the current <0.3% Sasol (Turbo Diesel) and Total ( Eco Diesel Plus ) make <0.05% Excel also keep the Sasol diesel it costs more but is better for your engine With the new regulations 0.05 will be the normal diesel with an even cleaner one available for a bit more money |
