How bad of an idea is this?

I've come across some nice pre-owned wheels that I love everything about except for the specs - which is everything

A square setup of 19x10.75 +35

245/35 (I know these are stretched; not my doing)

OEM M-Sport suspension

I'm not concerned with poke, as my fenders and quarters are cut and awaiting their new flares; nor am I worried about suspension contact because spacers and camber plates are things - but what other downsides are to be taken into consideration?

Flame away, I'm already dead inside anyways.

I don't know how you will physically fit them. You'll need more than a 25mm spacer up front. Spacers are indeed things, but going larger than 25mm is, I dunno, I wouldn't.

I definitely agree, I was just under the impression that I wouldn't need to comply with the entire 25mm+ inset gain as there should be a mild amount of pre-existing space? I could be entirely wrong.

Regardless, reasons not to waste money on the wheels are more useful to me right now than reasons to convince myself to buy them.

10" square would be doable I think.

I think someone on here is running something along those lines. Probably not square, but the width is comparable.

I blame the seller for being a Subie owner and buying such ridiculous specs.

At least one. You'll still have to run spacers for anything over 9" to clear the front damper, but it would prevent you from having to run ~30mm spacer on any one hub.

Also key to keep in mind in the rear is the fuel filler tube. You'll need a spacer to keep the tire off that. Bad day if you burn it through.

Ah, good reminder. The fronts alone would be such a hassle, but I completely forgot about the fuel filler. I guess I'll continue the hunt for something a little more practical. I think even if I did manage to space, camber, and cut enough for the 10.75, my car would look way out of place on any given day in Washington. Like this:

Not the point I was trying to make. I was saying it would be totally obscure as a DD.
