OK we needed a car to feel and drive like the E30 M3 not as slow as an E30 M3... Man! BMW you have tanked, really tanked this time.

You mean massive body roll, a steering system that is not connected to the front wheels, and the engine note played through the speaker system?!?!?!?!

Anyone else notice that the spec sheet says, "M TWINpower Turbo"?

Is this not biturbo??

EDIT: Spec sheet must have a typo. :P

I like what I see so far. I've the iS and I can report that the engine, while not a major power bump, is really nice especially the overboost function and it doesn't seem to run out of breathe pass 5000 rpm. Am sure that the engine will do wonders for the 1m since it's a lighter package. I love almost everything about the 1m except for a few minor styling cues.

A M3 coupe cost 68,750 Euro. What does it cost here?

Now figure out what you are doing wrong.

No blue makes me blue.. I guess the orange will at least match the front orange reflectors we will see in US spec cars.

Hmm... Same 135i Seats, same 135i spoiler... Not happy with those two things.

Other than those things, it seems like a cool car. If its in the $43-45k range then I am in!

My favorite pic here:

All this talk about not running out of breath makes me wonder if the engine/boost was remapped to make it seem that way. It's quite obvious that the turbos on the N54 run out of breath on the 135i, and I can't imagine the turbos are any different on this engine.

Bforbes, you ready to get a 1 series finally?

Otherwise, nice first effort.

This is great new. Love the car. I current own a 2011 m3 and a e46 m3. And to be honest it's more fun to drive the e46. So I'm guess this 1m is going to be awesome to drive. Man now I need to see a way to find more money to get that 1m lol.

I think it looks a little too agressive. I loved the alcantara pieces though! I wish they had them in the M3

Does anyone noticed that the max torque range is significantly shorter than 135?

car: 1M / 135
Torque:332lb-ft / 295lb-ft
@: 1500-4500 / 1200-5000

sound more like a 135is than a 1M

very disappointing.

on the other hand, the m3 blows the c63 performance pack out of the water on the track with 60 less horses

we'll have to wait and see.

let's hope they don't dilute the M brand

Same here. The seats are lousy, so is the spoiler/boot. I surely hope they will offer performance seats and spoiler as a factory option (at least in Europe for the seats). Seems crazy to think you buy this car, then drop another few grand on seats, and put the original seats unused to take up space in your garage...

Maybe it's like this on purpose, together with no cf roof, same bonnet, etc just to leave margin for a csl version12 months down the line.

I now know why BMW didnt offer it with a DCT - it would make it faster than a M3!
