I got my car yesterday ( feb order, march build ) and I got the owner's manual but no engraving by the start button

I picked my 135i up in Regina on April 16th and it did have the engraving. It was a random decision by me to pick the car up, so glad i did. The dealership said that they only had it for about 3 weeks before i bought it. I wonder if production date has any signifigance.

I hope not. Because my car is an April build, and yours would've been a Feb production, I believe. If they stopped putting the engraving on canadian cars then mine might not have it.

Picked up my 1er yesterday and my does not have engraving on it also.hmmm asked SA about it but he seemed to know nothing about it.

I think it is VERY misleading to order a car, only to find out it won't come with what was promised. I only have 1 word for BMW;

RECALL! (kidding... I meant Compensation)

Maybe we should talk about what a good replacement should be? A Canadian version of what is given in USA?

A good SA should go to bat for us, and keep fighting for something.

After all, some of us might plan on keeping th car for 100 years and put it on Antiques ROAD show. *a lil humour Ah!*

Look at el diablo's new 135i delivery. Missing the engraving, but has a M pedal. What the hell, do they change these every month? Anyone heard from BMW Canada yet?

I picked up mine two days ago and it doesn't have it.

The dealer called BMW canada to see why not and apperently the canadian cars were not supposed to have them in the first place.

Looks like this was something only for the US.

You know what amazes me... Nobody seems to have the real scoop on this. Not BMW, not BMW Canada, not the dealerships, and not us!

Being a first time owner (to be), is this normal (for BMW)?

I called customer care. Spoke to Brandon at BMW Canada. He doesn't know a thing about it personally, could not find anyone who knows about it. But said he will follow up, either today, or tomorrow.
I explained the whole situation and asked if they do have a "explanation" to possibly post their take on their own website. (hmmmm) Then it's not just my word. (I will ask my avatar to use some "force")

I did ask my SA/CA and he has yet to also hear anything back. Hmmmm. Maybe we should learn German, and post a list of direct contacts? LOL Just amagine the surpise if we contact the guy on the assembly line, calling his mobile, and asking him this very question; "Did my baby get engraved?"

I ordered mid-Jan and picked it up mid-April. No engraving.

Well, my car has finally arrived and I will be picking it up at 8pm on Thursday. I went to the dealership today to fill out some paperwork and to take a look at the new car. Alas, no engraving.

To those that have picked up their 1ers and have the engraving, hold onto that one. Sounds like a Canadian 1er with an engraving is going to be even more rare than we all thought.

I wonder how easy it would be to change the part out. Maybe it just pops out.

My dealer will have to find out when I ask for my car to come with the engraving, if it in fact is missing (hope till the end).

GOD DAMN IT !! That would be such a novelty to have, I read somewhere that all first year production 1 series get the engraving. That would only make sense, "Year 1 of the 1" not "Month 1 of the 1".
