Front hubs/bearings, common fail item?

I think my DS is not in perfect order and they don't look too expensive to replace (myself). So I'll probably do them as preventive maintenance but,
Do they commonly go bad? Talking about more the track orientated cars vs the garage queens.

I get a vibration from that side and it's not wheel balance (swapped wheels to test). I had gotten a binding pop while back that felt more in the rack than the hub. But that's gone now. Dunno on that one. The vibration was there prior too.
Everything feels tight and I can't get any wiggle from the wheel. But i know I can't match the force at speed (xxx type mph).

I'm kinda wondering if brake heat boiled a bearing?

If you constantly getting your brakes really hot, that could cause the bearing/hub to fail prematurely from heat.

In my experience, yes.

I ordered a pair of *** hubs from Fcp (so I only have to pay once). I won't get to doing them before I race again (unfortunatly). But hopefully it solves my issue, or what I think is the issue.
