Just for comparison, some SportAuto times. Car . . . . . . . . . 135i(306PS) . . . AC Schnitzer 135i(360ps) . . . S-Tronic TTRS 0-100km/h . . . . . . 5,2s . . . . . . . . . . . . 4,8s . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 4,2s 0-160km/h . . . . . . 12,3s . . . . . . . . . . . 10,8s . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 10,1s Also a stage 2 (remap + exhaust ~410hp) manual TTRS has done a 3.15 0-60mph and 11.69 1/4 mile in the UK. But as expected the 1M was more involving to drive. Two excellent cars just for people with different requirements. The TT can be practical if you want, try fitting 4 tyres in the back of most coupes |

Props to Audi for making that TT achieve a sub 4 second run. It will be interesting to truly see what the TT runs when a manual one arrives stateside. I agree with the results in that the M is the best all round sports car. I felt bad for the Infiniti getting thrown in the mix with two heavy weights.

So what is the availability of the TT-RS in North America?
My (limited) understanding is about 2000 units to be delivered over 24 months starting this summer at $66,000/unit. Are there waiting lists already as with the 1M? Sold out? |

give a 1M till the summer. Im willing to bet that theyll suffer the same fate as Z4MCs. Massive initial demand followed 6 months later by them stacked up dealer lots.

BMW's massive hyping of the 1M followed by "hurry up and wait, maybe one day we'll let you know if you have an allocation" is starting to get on my nerves... Still comitted to the 1M, but must admit I am a little curious about the TT-RS. |

First they were like yeah well do it. Then they said no wait we cant. Then they said ohh we may make one if the demand for the 1MC is great enough. But then they said yeah you should buy a 1MC so that you can get the vert. Im only interested in the vert. lol |

I have a manual TTRS and when it was stock I did a 12.6 quarter mile with a passenger, on my first run, on a badly prepared and slippery drag strip. The TTRS is my daily drive, and I find living with it no worse or better than my old Leon Cupra aka rebodied mk5 golf gti. Actually thats not true because in the wet or if its snowing I dont have traction issues unless im being really silly. I cant wait to see what modded 1m's can do, I would love to have one along with my TT. this comparo seems to parallel c&d's evaluation of 911 turbo vs gtr vs m3. they concluded that the m3 was much more a driver's car, despite the gtr's ability to erase the road with its meaty paws:

My take is these three cars don't belong in the same test. The Audi is so pricey it should be compared to an M3. The infiniti is out of it's class performance wise. A stock 135i could trounce the G, with or without a DCT. As for the 1M, it does take the weirdness of the 135i a notch higher.
Last time I saw a test of a 135i it was against an RX8 and a 370Z. That didn't make sense to me either. The one is a great car, but it is out there by itself. That might be one reason why it is great.
