mine might be a different situation since i did put 6 qts of oil instead of 7 qts at the break-in oil change. i put in 1 qts of oil after the car told me i was low on oil. haven't had any problems since. i just checked oil level the other day and i was ok. i would definitely bring it back to the dealer if it does come up more often.

My 3.0i Z4 used a quart in between 7500 mile oil changes from about 7500 miles for 2 oil changes then stopped using any oil:iono:. I was really worried and ask the dealer. They said that is no problem. I forgot the amount of oil a BMW could consume before they would work on the car but it was allot, more than I have ever burned in any car.

My MINI consumed about a quart in teh first 3k or so, after that it leveled off and I rarely need to add more than a 1/4 quart between changes, which I usually do at half the BMW interval, or around 7500-8000 miles.
