Need help with 135i purchase

I'm thinking about going from my 2011 Civic Si to a 135i.

I really like what's under the hood in the 135i but it doesn't look like a mean car.

I don't want girls saying my car is "cute."

Where can I look for some badass bodykits?

Thanks !

also BMW performance (or replica) grills, spoiler, diffuser, sideskirts, and aftermarket wheels..You should be safe from getting "cute car" comments after installing a few of those items . Look through the cars of the month http://www.bimmerpost.com/past-car-o...onth-archives/.

Get a decent exhaust system and it definitely won't sound "cute."

you say that now. I upgraded my exhaust and my gfs first reaction was

"so it makes that gay noise now?"

Also OP, dont expect too much in terms of the variety youre used to with the Civic. The 1er is the forgotten stepchild of the BMW world, we dont get a whole lot that isnt a hand me down from the 335.

^QFT. Girlfriend hates the exhaust. Everyone else seems to love it xD.
Also, "civics" are fairly girly/average to begin with. Its hard to tell the difference between the normal civic and the SI really.

Just give them a sense of your cars power and it should be more then enough to shut them up.

^ Also QFT. Especially after those ads where they had the monkey, the alien, the ninja chick, with the j pop in the background.

Im not trying to be mean, but you kinda went from one cute car to another

And I still have no idea what she was referencing when she talked about the "gay" noise. Maybe the much more pronounced turbo woosh?

Aside from the catback which is nice I like the hood. Where is the hood from?

Are there any other body mods I missed?

I am install the Kerscher front splitters tonight and will be done for now until the wheels get here. The hood is Seibon GtR vents hood. The hood by itself make it stand out, even an old guy ask me about it this morning at starbuck.

That car doesn't have a catback. It's okay, you're learning . Looks like it has a wrapped spoiler, diffuser, grills, tinted tail lights, cf roundels, and the lower grills in the front bumper were removed like this.

Not sure if I'm going to get the ground clearance I need because I was thinking I could drive the car in the snow with some good winter tires like blizzak. I'd have to give it a nice coat of wax and get the undercarriage rinsed regularly.

I can't afford brand new but I can do 30-35k which will be financed. I saw one certified 2010 with 7k miles for $35k from a bmw dealer.

Maybe I'm not being rational getting this car as a daily driver?

I daily drive mine, but I picked mine up with more miles and for less ($26k w/ 35k miles). I also don't have to deal with as much snow as you do though.

Is this a high maintenance vehicle to keep requiring frequent-expensive service?

I would also like to pick one up in the mid 20k range.

Not if you get one with low mileage. You'll have the warranty and maintenance covered til you hit 50k, which you have the option of extending if you want. I extended my warranty another 3 years for $3k, didn't extend the maint., I'm willing to pay outta pocket for that.

I haven't really had any visits where I've had to pay money in the last year and a half that I've had the car. With the exception of a flat tire, that was kinda pricey. And I've gotten it detailed a few times.

Very useful info and thanks. So the warranty is until 50k or 3 or 4 years/50k miles whichever happens first?

Also, do you think an aftermarket body kit or hood voids warranty if everything mechanical stays the same and not modded?
