It's amazing how not too long ago that race was all about taking it easy, staying on the lead lap and then when it was 3-4 hours from the finish, sprint!

These days it's a 24hr sprint! Impressive that GTLM 1-2 finished less than 100th of a second apart and 3rd place on the lead lapse well. 1st - 3rd in GTD finished within a few seconds of each other too. Pretty remarkable.

When I think about where Formula One has gone, WEC has become much more attractive. Formula One has done exactly the opposite and continue to promulgate regulations that damage competitiveness and reduce the perceived and real value of the product.

I have been a huge racing fan since I was 6 years old. As an adult I have developed into a pretty decent driver with a hundreds laps at 2 FIA Grade 1 tracks, 3 Grade 2 tracks and several private circuits. The ability to watch cars being driven to their fullest potential is one of my favorite activities and currently there are only 2 places to really do this in top-tier international automobile racing: The WEC and WRC, IMHO.

This is the direction racing should go. The ridiculous eco-aero-power unit formulae that don't allow REAL RACING to take place for the scheduled duration of the event are damaging the sport and causing the loss of fans.

I love the direction that the technology has taken, just not the application of the regulations.
