Inca Orange, all the way. There's a lot of resources in your area for E6/2002 parts that should get you well under way, if you decide to take in the project. Check out 2002AD.com, if you don't already know about those guys. I assume you know about them, since you're in LA though.

So.....
I picked up the car and we rolled it into the shop where I started to slowly strip away what was left in the car. After a majority of the car was more or less stripped, my brother and I put it on the jack and started working on getting the engine out. Just a picture of some of the excess stuff that was stripped out and is no longer usable. All I can say is WD-40 sure came in handy with some of these bolts and etc. Last picture of the car for now. We managed to pull the engine and tranny out in one piece, but by the time we were done I was too tired to take another picture with it off. I promise to take some more tomorrow! And last but not least I managed to get a shot of my sexy 1er! So until tomorrow I hope you guys enjoy! |

So I am at work and of course as usual I am on the site checking stuff out =)... So far I am considering m20 swap... What do you guys think?
And also the suspension needs to be completely re done.... Any suggestions as to what route to go I am thinking coilovers for now but its not like my 1er where I can say I'll put KW's on it and get away with it -__- So basically I found one from "Ground Control" Are they any good? Thanks again for the help! |

My swap (and e36 318ti with an S52 M3 motor) also uses e30 rear suspension parts, and I sourced a limited slip diff and half shafts that way... |

It is a competition model, possibly GTS. Notice the lightweight hood and interior! LOL.
In all seriousness, good luck!

So today we sanded the most of the front end primed sanded again checked for spots we missed and primed again and added under undercoating to the car.
Majority of the time was spent on that today so here is a few pictures of what I did today... Well start off with a picture of my shop then the car Thats it for today and I doubt tomorrow there will be any updates as I am going to watch Iron Man 2 and I won't get the chance to work on the car. So most likely next update will be sometime Saturday! |

You are about at step 2 out of a 100 steps work plan. Long way to go. If you don't mind, please keep track of and let us know how much time and $ that you have sunk into this project. Thanks for posting such an interesting thread.

On Saturday I am going to pick up 4 pieces for the floor pans in the car at $15 each a wiring diagram should be free and tail light assembly $163 currently debating on seats whether to go with aftermarket seats or pick up a pair of OEM seats and reupholster them. Later today or tomorrow I will post a link will prices on all the things I need for the car (Basically everything ) lol BUT then again I bought the car for $100 |

Basically I found out today the car is a 1969 and not a 1968 not that it makes a difference...
Sanded and primed half the interior earlier today. I didn't get a chance to take pictures and will upload them tomorrow. Today is my bday so no more working on the car for now.... List of prices for what I am ordering for the time being.... Parts pricing is based on per item IE. $20 for a light = $40 one for driver side one for passenger side. Tail Light Assembly - $163 Head Light - $50 Floor Pan circle covers - $10 Harness - $300 Spray Paint (Primer) - $5 Spray Paint (Undercoat) - $7 Seats for 1600-2 - $300 Seats for 2002 - $200 Dont know which seat to use or to go aftermarket for that matter Dash (New) -$1800 Dash (Used) - $200 + $600 to restore Trunk - $450 Reupholster - $300 Thats it for now I'll post a full list when I get a chance! |
