Also I was reading the earlier posts but couldn't confirm; does Stage2 require supporting mods? I gather that I get both stages with purchase. Would they be tailored to the fact that I always use 93 octane?

You can use stock intercooler with Stage 2 like i am. No other mods. I use 93 octane. Service from ESS is always quick as my car now - top stuff!

I have it down to either the ESS or GIAC. The ESS is slightly less expensive once you figure in the install cost for the GIAC.

Decisions decisions.

Well with ESS you dont have to take your car into the dealer to get it reflashed before your take it to BMW. Also ESS have good power and services. Should be easy decision

The GIAC with a hand held switcher also lets me switch to stock for dealer visits.

Stage 2 works fine on a stock car. The performance of stage 1-2 will be altered by fuel quality and aftermarket hardware mods if added to the car.
