In my eyes it was totally worth it, since it was already on the rack it's wasn't much extra labor to add it onto the oil change. I instantly noticed the much smoother 1-2 shift.

Got a pretty kitted out Valentine One yesterday and got it all hardwired in. Also finally hardwired my dashcam with an idle controller so it will record a time-lapse once parked and automatically switch off once the battery hits a certain voltage. I tapped fuse 08 for the exhaust cutout and used fuse 05 for the camera and V1. Main power from the camera is actually a direct lead to the battery so it's just pulling a signal from the fuse rather than power, fuse 05 is an ignition circuit so both come on right when I start the car which is perfect since I can keep it in accessory mode without the V1 beeping away at things and the camera recording for no reason.
The V1 I purchased came with the LE Bluetooth adapter, remote display, and an extra hardwire kit. It took forever to run all the wires yesterday so the V1 is just on my visor for now but I'm thinking of running it to the back of the car somewhere and setting up the concealed display on the dash. Need to do some exploring of options on this as I want the main unit hidden but in a good spot for front/rear detection. Might even see if I can mount it to the back seat lighting cluster. I've seen some really cool mounting ideas with the concealed display, people have even moved the guts to a gauge pod before. Excited to have some more gadgets! Will post pics once everything is cleaned up

Found a local Quaife diff importer, directly from Birds UK.
After doing research on the chassis number, the diff is not welded and an easy swap. He quoted me €1,820 including labour, oil, taxes etc no TÜV required. Sadly, they have no experience doing rear subframe bushings or sway bars or such. So what do you think? Is the price good to let an official Quaife importer do just the diff and i can probably do the RSFB/Sway bars later? or be patient and do it all together? |

Just hit me while driving today. I have not driven my GTI for the past 3.5 weeks. It has been sitting in the garage the whole time. Damn I never get tired of my 1er!

Jim, can you forward details on the replacement head lights please? I hate the yellow on the corners. Interested in what you purchased and any issues related to installing..

So, I've been planning on getting the clinched widebody flares for some time now but recently saw them installed on another vert. I just don't think I'll be going that route now. Something too off about the rear bumper section on them. I think the new plan is to do OEM 1M front and rear bumper with custom metal work on the fenders to meet up with the new width. Not 1M style, but something completely new and custom. I'd like to put my own spin on a wide 1er. I have some ideas in mind and going to speak with a custom metal fabrication shop next week. Hopefully I'll be able to draft up some design stuff to show to y'all soon

Completed treatment of the top today. You really have to make sure the treatment doesn't get on the paint or glass. It is a PITA to get off. DAMHIK!
Now it will shed water as if it were plastic.

TRW & Lem are both OE manufacturers I believe. When it comes to the M3 arms often they are actual M parts with the BMW M logo ground off
