Bambi almost got it today

Well, I was doing some spirited driving on some backroads in my area, and as I was entering one of my favorite right hand turns a 20lb or so baby bambi darted out. I slammed on the breaks and let me tell you they are amazing as I only have 700 miles on the car and I haven't really been using them to aggresively. The dear and and my car escaped unharmed but did that little F***** scare the s*** out of me. I was doing about 75 into the turn and luckily it was before entering. Be aware of deer and they are my biggest fear in the car and on the bike. Just wanted to send everyone a reminder if they are popukar in you area, Cheers

75?! Lol I live in Ct, and all the back roads in my town have a speed limit of 25 tops 35 Sounds like you were having quite a bit of fun. Your post has started making me day dream about my car... whenever it gets here. on the other note... the deer in Ct really are out of control though aren't they? Glad to know the breaks on the car are better then good

Scary! There's a lot of deer around my house too. One of my friends hit a bambi with her SLK last year and it did some serious damage.

I hit a deer in my truck five years ago and I was going the speed limit. There were trees close to the road and she just jumped in the road in front of me. I hit the breaks but did not want to try to swerve and it took her out and did some damage to my truck.

Point is speed does not matter, it the clearing you have to see the deer approach the road. You could do 150 mph and be safe for deer if you are on flat land and able to see the deer from a distance.

It is a hard call to make in an instant but I came upon a wreck where a deer jumped out and the vehicle swerved to miss the deer and rolled the car. Much worse than hitting the deer.

$4800 in damage to my Maxima two years ago while driving out to my parents house. It was a pretty big deer though.
