Wasnt saying it was all powerfull and absolutely better, get off it... All I contested was that its a viable racing platform when done correctly as any setup is. Just becasue you do not prefer fwd, does not make it not so... Otherwise companies wouldnt invest hunderds of thousands of dollars into the sport would they?

Dude. It is not a viable racing platform. Yes they do it, but it is a failing one. You can't put the all power down in a turn. PERIOD. Then what is the meaning of having 500 hp on front wheels if you can't use it. It is like saying since there are Soap Box cars racing, they are viable racing platform...

Quite being a hater, ill take most cars on this board on the track... If your going to keep up with this crap, stay the hell out of the thread... You either like it, or you dont, get over the fwd vs rwd argument, its tired. |

Dan, lets just be honest.
Can a FWD car be setup to drive well on the track? YES Is it the optimal drive setup? NO I for one cannot wait to see your finished producted with the 1er. If you put as much passion into it as you have the SRT-4 then it is going to be one bad mutha! |

Dan it is not about being hater. It is about facts.
I checked the World Challange website. Yes, there are FWD cars, and yes they are only allowed in Touring Car cathegory with other drivetrains. Others cathegories are strictly RWD or AWD. However I want to point you to this fact, may be you missed this. Car Facts "Touring Car (TC): The allowed body styles in this class are coupes, hatchbacks, wagons or sedans. The cars permitted in TC are typically sold as "compact" cars, or "touring" cars. Eligible cars must have realistic seating for four (4) adults. Power output ranges from 180 to 200 hp." It is very different to put down 180HP and 500HP especially while cornering. Regards,

Not always running 480 at the track days... AEM Stand alone engine management takes care of the tune switches. The dynos I posted were for seeing where the motor was after the full build, and getting a decent baseline for drags which I also took place in.
But, 450 was my daily tune on a low 20 psi... It might not be the best in most of your eyes but it got it done for myself, I never had a problem passing rwd cars and running away on track days. Albeit not experts, still took out bimmers, vettes, exiges, and a number of others that scoffed at my neon. Don't knock it untill you rock it. |

I was privvy to get advice, setup info from a great team crew chief and Mopar master mechanic Dave Moore who was local to my last base. Crew Chief for Hal Browns team in the World Challenge series. They were good untill their trailer and two cars were stolen...

Sooo, got a new wheel setup comming in:
I figured it was about time to get some new shoes to get the SRT rolling again after 3+ months down. Didnt go all out, just some basic rims and a decent set of tires to get the job done. And it went in a totally different direction... Pics mounted when they come in... Before: 18x7.5 Focal F05 FBLK PAINT I guess I went black to get the dirty look, I was sick of cleaning the wheels of brake dust... 225/40ZR -18 BFGoodrich g-Force T/A KDW 2 back to what was stock rubber, always a great rubber imho. Hey there....nice project ...awesome car...
So you are in Italy Aviano Base! Are u a fight pilot? One question these BF Goodrich g-Force T/A KDW 2 where able to bought them in Italy or imported from US. In Portugal we don’t have this model in the commercial line. Are these tires advised for day to day rides even with rain or are those more adequate only for dry roads or track days. thanks, BR |

Hello, I am not a pilot, I am a mechanic for the aircraft. Any type fighter aircraft in the USAF.
These tires I bought from Tirerack.com, same with the wheels. They can ship internationally. The BFG TA KDW 2 tires offer great dry and wet performance, more so than other tires in thier class. Most are realy great dry, but not so in the wet. The BFGs do well in both areas. |

Needed new wheels, and this was quick to get the car rolling again... Black is kinda growing on me so far, after a day with the wheels on, and a quick car wash.
iPhone pics are shitty, will snap some with the Nikon later: And, a pic of my Intercooler end tank crack I need to get fixed, making the car run like shit, loosing all boost fun, and throwing the gas milage to shit @ 13 MPG lol. So, what do you think, better with the new, or the old chrome Centerline set? |

New. Chrome wheels are tasteless and ugly.

LOL, eye sore! So, I take it ur not a fan? Pitty me. Guess we won't be getting together for cruises and races then? I understand though, if I was driving your car, I wouldn't want to race and lose this eye sore neon either. Understandable.
And no, obviously I am not banned from the forum... |
