Dinan Rear Upper Shock Mount Kit on E88?

Hey guys,

Looking to upgrade my suspension and am intrigued by the Dinan 10mm rear mount kit.

The Dinan site does NOT list E88 as compatible. Has anyone installed this succesfully on their convertible?

Thanks,
NewD

Weird, did they explain why? I just did a quick check and it looks like the part numbers for a coupe and convertible on OEM parts are the same?

BTW, instead of Dinan, I installed the Monroe 907984 mounts and have been doing great since. They are very similar (pretty much the same I think) to the Dinan mounts in that they use a stiffer rubber instead of the foam. Bonus is that they're only $12 with prime shipping on Amazon.

They did not explain, good point. I'm guessing they may not have tested it?

Anyway, I did read about the Monroe setup and so ordered it, sounds great.

Were there any other parts you changed when changing rear shocks?

+1 for the Monroe bushings

and yeah the lower mount, but I just replaced it with another OEM one.

Nice, I ordered the OEM lower mount as well. I look forward to a significantly less jarring ride.

E88 vs E82

You will find all sorts of non sense about e88 parts not being available and only for e82. The vast majority of this is only because they were not test fitted and they don't want returns in case. If you research enough you will find the right answer for each part. Just frustrating, especially when it comes to suspension.

I agree with this being a rreasonably likely reason why it won't fit. But hard to take the chance while the car is in the air at a shop. Might as well go with the Monroes and save a wad of cash too.

Get familiar with the free references, RealOEM and NewTIS are always good starting points.

Literally the only difference will be that your rear springs will be "one step" stiffer due to the extra weight of the drop top.

And I would've recommended the Monroes over Dinan for price alone.
