135i; retrofit to a 128i rear bumper?!??!?
I bought my car march 25 2010. Since I have it, I always found that the rear bumper, with the DIFFUSER, is not very beautiful. I found there is something that doesnt fit.
So I make some researchs, and I have some choices. 1. buy a carbon fiber diffuser... too pricey and not very beautiful (in my opinion) 2. paint the diffuser in white... but the diffuser still there, its better than not painted 3. put a 128i rear bumper.... I just want to know if someone doesnt like the rear diffuser on the 135i and if there is other option to replace it..... thanks and sorry for my engligh; its my second language. My last car was a golf 2008. I painted the rear diffuser and that was so beautiful after... I will let you somes pictures of bmw and vw. Is it possible to install a rear 128i bumper on a 135i? you are actually the only one person that prefer 128i rear bumper over 135i.
Yes you can install 128i rear bumper, but you need Left & Right plastic panel to fit 128i rear bumper. |

^ Actually, I prefer the 128i rear bumper (bit I already have it on my 128i).
I think the stock diffuser looks a bit cheap - what's so great about having a grey piece of plastic back there? I prefer the cleaner look of the single-piece, body colored bumper. I read somewhere that the 135i diffuser wasn't even functional, which makes it a bit lame in my book. Can't remember where that was, though. In any case, I doubt I'd go through the trouble and expense of retrofitting a 128i bumper if I drove a 135i. Although maybe you could find a 128i owner who wants to trade - that would be the cheapest way to go about it. |

I have a white 128i bumper for sale if you would want it. I switched to the 135i bumper bc even if the diffuser is non-functional the 135i bumper gives the car a more aggressive look.

Double check with a dealer. It would be easy to buy one from them because of shipping. If you are selling yours let me know and I will take it off your hands! been looking for one for awhile... Is yours white?

Thats because its NOT a diffuser, its a valance, nothing more than a cosmetic piece. I have no clue why everyone calls it a diffuser, even BMW calls it a diffuser. It doesnt diffuse anything, it actually causes drag. These are diffusers: http://aprperformance.com/index.php?...d=69&Itemid=47 However, I love the look of the CF pieces that are out there for the 135i bumper, but to each his own. |
