Blower wiring and PCV heater recall done. Car is clean, but the dealer obviously used an automatic washer so the swirl marks are horrendous. Bummer. Also had them balance and rotate the wheels, so now the car doesn't shake as bad on the highway.

I LOVE the color, it suits the car perfectly. I can't wait to see its next stage of completion-but-not-completion.

Will-do. You might hate it, though...you'll have to switch from the oil-water heat exhanger to the 135i oil cooler block, and I know you recently installed the former, as I did.

Thanks! I'm super excited about the headlight transformation. It's going to modernize the LCI lights a bit while still adding a little custom touch

Started working on pulling the engine.
Have to figure out where to attach to the back to lift it out. The whole thing at one is going to be an unbalanced mess, but that's what it's gotta be.

What exhaust did you use for your conversion? And do you follow TUN3D battery tray or so something else?

All custom from axle back. We pushed the charcoal canister back a bit and were able to route the piping just enough to make it work. Maybe I'll eventually go the battery tray and all that but at the time it wasn't worth the cost

Would love some pics of the routing you did. Gonna try to modify my Maddad whisper.

Doing that and the PCV heater recall tomorrow. First time going to the dealer with the car. Every other time it's been in someone else's car because mine was on jackstands at home

My "build" is escalating. About to pull the trigger on a Moroso Oil Accumulator (Accusump) to prevent oil starvation on the track, and also doing an OEM 135i oil cooler with my front bumper this winter. You know, while I'm in there. I also have an N54 intake manifold and throttle body to install, will hopefully have a pro-built LSD to install. The car's going to be amazing after winter break.

I also started a plan for building my perfect N52 motor, as a side project. As hard as I drive the car, and with how many miles it has on it, it'll need a motor sooner or later. That really won't be fun. 300+ crank hp and ~9k rpm are my lofty goals...
Sounds like you plan on holding on to your 1er for a while!

Those tips look nice. Think your guy could make another? Do you have a muffler anywhere?

Unfortunately he's up in Pennsylvania. I'm down in Florida now. Not sure where you're abouts but he'd definitely do another, would just need to go to him. Any exhaust shop with a bender and plasma cutter could do this though. We did have to get a little creative but when you look at exhausts made by like Remus, you can understand the idea

Ordered a Moroso 3-quart engine oil accumulator, hopefully I won't suffer any engine oil starvation issues as I continue to get faster. Gotta get to 250,000 miles...

I never say this about any car because I don't like tinted headlights. The pic shows it. Your car with tinted headlights and carbon fiber side skirts to match the other carbon fiber would look incredible.
Just my opinion.
Beautiful job !!!

Certainly no harm in doing them

I'm not sure what some of them do to be honest; but I'd say try them and change it back if you see any negative effects.

I hadn't seen that list before; I'll be coding them in next time I have NCS attached to my car.

Haha thank you! The lights are getting blacked out housing during the retrofit of new halos. Some other custom touches but I'll hold off on mentioning until they're done. And my skirts do have carbon extensions on them

Weird request, could you get the part number off the steel bracket that holds the oil cooler to the frame rail?

EDIT: FOUND IT! Part number 51647154546, if anyone is curious.

Looking forward to your thread about:
1. Installing that accusump
2. Making the 135i brake ducting, 135i oil cooler work w your Perf Bumper.

Your build will be my inspiration chris_flies

Hahaha thanks man! It's not pretty, but it's functional, and delightfully reliable. I'll detail these modifications in my build thread, and probably create a dedicated thread on installing an accumulator.

Mine's just going to utilize a manual valve for now. I can open the valve once the car's started before going out on track, then close it when I open the hood to cool it down afterwards. Might decide to switch to an electric valve later, but IDK.
