Yep, running 225/45/17 PSS square here and love it. Best part is a full set of PSS are only like $450-$475.

I will continue to research ways to get a 3.64, 3.46 or 3.38 to work with out the drive shaft flange cut & reweld.
How is the acceleration?

That is a damn good reason to go with a 17" wheel. I just spend $372 on tirerack for 2 PSS in a 225/40/18 size...

It feels fun, I doubt its any faster than it was. I do see 4k+ more often now for gear 1,2,3 so more frequent oil changes

I just went up to 245 PSS in the rear. Test fitted on the front and it's a tight fit but it works, so I'll hopefully be going up to 245 in the front when they wear.

Installed new PSS 225R17 tires all around. Swapped from my winter tires last week so I don't think I can do a really fair comparison to my old OEM runflats but from what I can tell, these tires feel much better already without any noticeable road noise increase.

Nice! I think that's a really good tire width choice for a DD 128 (obviously since I went with that too.) I like the BBS wheels too! What's the width? 17x8? One of their cast models, right?

No, I only have 17x7.5 all around. I bought these wheels before I tried out autocross, when I just wanted something that looks good without having to worry about fitment and have two sets of wheels for my winter + summer tires.

But honestly, now I kind of regret it since I'm kind of getting more into autox and I wish I had something more aggressive. Oh well, no regrets on my tire purchase though

Not really an installation but got around to doing my first autocross event for 2016. Not the greatest weather as it was raining but was still fun getting back into it:

Finally got some decent control arm bushings installed, and got the car aligned.

Ready for the year:

Installed a 135i Muffler

...just the rear section, got one cheap locally and was looking for an incremental / subtle exhaust note change from stock for a daily driver. Overall, yea it's pretty subtle but it's there, specifically under 3K rpms it's deeper and has a more characterful tone. Induction and general engine noise take over above 3500 rpm so not much difference noticed inside the car, probably noticeable outside the car though.

To put it another way, if doing a golf tee mod is say a 5% change in volume, this is another 5% on top of that....

I elected to go this route as I may do headers in the future and don't want an ultra loud/raspy setup. This is a nice "OEM+" type change for relatively little money, and would not be overly loud for a daily driver if headers were added down the road.

Uhh, no it's only 225. Mentioned in previous post that I got these wheels before I tried autocrossing and finding out I liked it and it's only 7.5" wide. But I'm not trying to be super competitive at autocross at the moment and I don't have the required camber + fender roll to accomplish 245 let alone 255 so not a big deal now although I'll probably end up trying for something more aggressive in the future.

Can't wait to see how you do this year. Are you thinking you'll have a realistic chance at 1st place at nationals this year? I remember you seemed fairly close in times to the BRZ/FRS that took the top 3(?) spots.

I did a couple things today. Project 1 was to swap to my summer wheels/tires. Project 2 was to change out my spark plugs due to a misfire code. It was hesitating pretty badly and shook during cold starts, but now all is fine. Oh yeah, I had B-12s, Dinan camber plates and RSMs install 2 weeks ago.

As an outside observer, he probably should have won last year. An unlucky car issue on day 1, and an even unluckier one day 2 cost him a lot. If he'd brought a rabbit's foot with him, he'd have been the 2015 STX National Champion.

The class is quite a bit harder now though.

Easily one of the bets mods for this car in terms of exhaust; The tips look great, the flow is unrestricted, sound bump, and it's very cheap (free if you're lucky). If you weren't doing header's I'd suggest the Supersprint Y Pipe. 135i muffler + SS Y pipe is one of the best sounds I've heard from the N52.

Yep, I've followed your exploits closely and they helped a lot in my decision....thanks!

Wasn't quite free for me but was happy to contribute a few dollars to a local guy who's building a 135i dedicated time attack car.
