dbchun did you have to do anything to the cable before using (ie use the disc that came with the cable). I have the same cable but MHD will not recognize.

nope it worked right out of the box. with the key in accessory mode and cable connected you should see a LED light up. if it's not reading you may have received a faulty cable.

I bought a $50 tablet from Best Buy simply for MHD and to use as a MP3 player.
It's the Digiland 7" unit --> http://www.bestbuy.com/site/digiland...&skuId=4306900
Flashed the car last night and all went well.
Used the cable suggested by Jeff. Which costs a bit more, but piece of mind is well worth it IMO.

Thanks for all the info, I recently purchased everything to flash the MHD tune to my 07 335i and should have before and after dyno numbers Friday night for the stage 1 tune. Really appreciate all the info on this forum.

Do I have to flash back to stock to smog? I just failed my smog because, apparently, the "computer doesn't have enough data". I last cleared the codes on my car something like 3-4 weeks ago and have put 1000 miles on it since.

I have a wheel speed sensor that might not be working, but that wouldn't cause data gathering to stop?

i'm not sure, i do recall that the N54 is a bit finicky with smog tests. the engine has to go through a certain minimum # of "cycles" before the emission data is available. did you recently get any major service done? or have had the car parked stationary for extended period of time?

Are the map updates free? Ket's say you flashed Stage 1 v4 initially, do you get a free update to v5.1 since it was released?

It's al la carte, you pay for which modules you want (Flasher, monitoring, JB4 backend). Then you purchases the license for OTS stage 1 or OTS stage 2 maps and they come with free updates. MHD just launched their beta v6 maps yesterday with more separation (stage 1, stage 1+FMIC, stage 2, stage 2+FMIC and E40). DPs are recommended for stage 2 and up maps.

I flashed my 135i today to Stage 1 93 and couldn't be happier. Car pulls much harder and the power delivery is very smooth. Just an FYI. I bought my cable from ebay and it came with an OTG adapter as well (I didn't even know I was getting the OTG adapter). It was only $22 shipped. Cable worked great. Here is a link if anyone is interested in a cable that someone else has confirmed works.

Is there anyway to transfer this app's ownership? I'm selling my car and hoping I can transfer the tune to someone else so they can flash up to stage 1 or back to stage 0 with their own android.

no I do not believe this is possible, the purchase is tied to your Google play store account login, like any other paid phone app.

just wonder which is better, do MHD along or pair it with JB4?

i have JB4 installed in my e89 Z4, but i heard alot of people saying JB4 is not made for DCT. so i'm wondering if i should take JB4 off and run MHD along or just pair MHD with JB4. thanks for any help.
