Used 135 Advice
I am looking at a used 2008 135 with low miles. It is a CPO from a BMW dealer. The question I have is with a PPI - should I get one? My understanding is that the CPO is kind of a PPI. My main concern is if the car was in an accident or has damage that the warranty will not repair (the Carfax is clean, but as we all know that is no guarantee). I would be provided the opportunity to look at the car on a lift, but I would only be able to spot the easy problems. I would think someone other than the dealer selling the car would need to do the PPI, which makes this harder to schedule.
Anyway, just wanted to get some thoughts on this. Thanks |

if you are not comfortable with the dealership and car, i would absolutely recommend a PPI! you can never be too sure! but the BMW guys at a reliable dealership know their shit, so chances are they found any problems and took care of them

From what I read in various forums, the CPO process is/may be a little more thorough than a standard PPI at a BMW dealership. Do not know firsthand and would like to hear if that is or is not the case. If so, then a PPI of a newly CPOd car seems to be redundant. Also read that CPO cars cannot have significant accident history.
If I had a PPI done it is obviously more convenient to have it done at the dealer selling the car, but I would guess an independent third-party would be a better choice. Any thoughts? |
