Drive side mirror

MY poor car got hit by a 18 wheeler on the freeway three weeks ago. The crazy driver just crossed lanes without looking and took out my driver side front panel and the side mirror. The car has since been in the BMW authorized body shop and they get everything fixed except for the side mirror which has been on order through BMW wholesale. The Sparkling Graphite Metallic is out of production but the guy said he could paint over it as needed but the problem is the mirror is on back order so it has to come from Germany and it will take at least 4 to 6 weeks.

I’ve been driving a Toyota Camry which is a rental provided by the insurance company. I really missed my car and I just can’t believe it is being held up by a little mirror and they can’t locate one in the USA.

I had the exact same problem with my 08 SGM 128i, long story short I swerved to miss hitting a deer and clipped a mailbox with the passenger side mirror which completely destroyed the mirror and left a dent in the door, anyway it took them almost 5 weeks to get the mirror in because it was still on backorder in the USA from Germany. It took me almost 6 weeks to get my car back once he got it painted

Sucks man, but these new cars have such low availability of parts that aren't changed often.

Hope you get it soon! If you want I can double, triple check the availability, just PM me the last 7 of your VIN with a description of exactly what you want
