E90 335i Brakes on a E87 130i - Question about surface treatment

Hello,

I recently bought some 335i front calipers from a wreck 2011 E90, to install in my 2008 E87 130i.
I spent a long time trying to get rid of the shitty paintjob, got tired, disassembled and send it to sandblasting, loved the results.

I would really like to install them as they are, bare aluminum, but I donīt know if it is necessary to give the surface some kind of treatment, like Anodization, or even High Temp Clear Gloss..
We do not have salt in the streets here (no snow), altought sometimes I drive this car near sea shores..

Does anybody know if the OEM calipers are anodized, have any kind of surface treatment, or are just bare aluminum?

THey do look nice bare like that - but they will collect dirt and brake dust like crazy in my opinion. Maybe look for a high temp clear coat that would preserve the look mostly?

Unless you are going to polish them smooth, I'd at least put a clear coat on so that the brake dust doesn't sink into the pores of the textured finish.

Anodising would look wicked, but there's so much brake dust that it'd get hidden.

Personally I'd paint them in some sort of colour... Whilst they look nice and shiney now, that won't last long at all

Just finished baking the paint in the oven and reassembled the calipers, gonna install them tomorrow.
Calipers painted in VHT aluminum siver, and carriers galvanized.

Installed them yesterday! Awesome, totally plug n play, even the carriers bolts are the same.
A bit heavier, 32.85lbs to 37.26..
Still bedding them in, so canīt do a review now.
