Are the Performance rotors the floating design?

In the UK brochures, the front caliper is not listed as available for the 135i, as there is no performance increase from it. Obviously the discs can be fitted...

The brake kit, IMO, was made for the 128i to upgrade to the 135i brakes.. for the price vs brembo bbk, it's unbeatable. As far as upgrading from 135i stock brakes to the BMW Performance ones, I cannot confirm whether you'd see noticeable difference. From what I believe, the rear calipers are two piston instead of one. The main selling point is that you get all these parts: calipers, pads, perf front rotors and rear rotors for the price of around $1,700-$2,000. Will it make a huge difference? I'd vote no. Does it look better? I'd vote yes. The brake pads are confirmed to be the same on the stock calipers as with the performance calipers. If it was me, and this is only me, I'd buy the $210 worth of rotors (+ shipping) and put the car on the lift for a few days. Those stock calipers would come off, and be powder coated a new color. Rotors would then be put on, and shazam!

Thanks Dan for the information, I thought that the 135i comes standard with 2 piston rear calipers?

I did not know that the rotors were available for purchase seperately, in that case, I'll see if I can contact the BMW dealer here for the rotors. The colour doesn't really matter, i want it more discreet anyway.
I agree with JohnnyTT that the guy probably felt a difference because of the freshly installed brakes.

To mikeo:
I'm not sure if it's a floating design, but so far I only know of the m3 e92 to be floating design, but I don't really know about the other bmws.

To squeak:
I'll have to pay extra, that's why I want to find out as much as possible before i get them.

EDIT: Dan, do you happen to know the part # for the rotors? It would help a lot if you could give me them so I could give it to the dealer over here.

Sorry to resurrect such an old thread but its spot on to what I wanted to ask.

Has anyone confirmed if the BMW Performance Calipers are differently constructed than the standard 135i brakes? I've read they're designed as an upgrade for the 130i and nothing more, however, the kit includes the cross drilled slotted rotors in the front and according to the diagram not for the rear (link below under 'Rear Kit' suggest that you can option in the cross drilled slotted ones). Obviously the calipers are painted differently as well.

Front Kit:

If the brake calipers/pads etc are the same, then all a 135i owner would need to do is change the rotors to the following:

its just different paint than 135i brake system. The rotors are dimpled & slotted. I dont know if the rear is also dimpled.

Good to know we already have the same brakes. They should have made sure this was clear as it's not. Rotor upgrade is simple enough!

I listed the two sets of drilled/slotted rotors (front and rear) above. Weird how the 'full' brake kit only includes the fronts as drilled and not the rear.

I have a question on the size of the front rotors. I have a Dec 2012 135i M Sport with the silver painted 6 pot calipers. All the information I can find say the front rotors are 338mm. The problem is that my car has 330mm rotors and these are the original ones that came on the car.

All of the sites I have been to show that correct looking caliper but I am worried that if I buy some rotors at 338mm they wont fit in the caliper.

Has anyone come across this problem before?

That would be very strange. The pad would not be fully utilised and it would make a horrible noise. Post up a pic?

Is the centre hat aluminium riveted to the actual friction area?
