My right rear jack point decided that it was done as I was jacking up the car. Plastic broke and the jack stand slide out on to the body work.

Fortunately the wheel was still on but this is looin' like a pricey repair.

wow, sorry to hear about the damage. I never thought those jack points would actually give out and need replacing...

Sold it! I would have liked to of held on to it longer but I like the extra room in the garage I need for the Aprilia Tuono I'll be buying soon as it arrives in the states. And I don't really need 2 cars. Seems easier on the mind for some reason. I'll miss it for sure. Sold it to a gentleman who has 2 other BMW's including a e46 m3 track car. So it went to a good home.

Mine were pretty chewed up, so that probably had something to do with it. Don't think the PO used pad adapters.

I'm baffled that BMW decided the use plastic for the jack points, but fortunately the pads are $10/pop @ FCP and easy to swap out.

Picked up an oil filter (Mann HU 816 X), and some fluids...Redline 5W40 (#15404) oil, Zerex G48 coolant, and a bottle of Water Wetter.
The 'antifreeze' is draining as I type.

Nearly finished with my detailing odyssey. Got the car last Tuesday. Detail clay bar, rubbing compound, sealant, pre-wax cleaner, lots of wax.

Stripped the window tint...hate that job.
I tried a number of different 'cleaners' for removing the left-over glue (soap/water, window cleaner with ammonia, WD-40, nitro solvent, and carburetor & choke cleaner). By far, the best results came from the carb cleaner and/or nitro (gunpowder) solvent. A quick spray and wipe with window cleaner, after the solvent, and it's good to go.
Car looks cleaner without the tint.

What percent tint was it? I have 40% so it’s still classy but rejects a ton of heat since it’s ceramic.

I think it was 35%, and has likely been on there since the car was new. I'm pretty sure it was just dyed film. I'm going to drive it like this for a bit, and see how I like it. If I decide to re-tint, I will go with a ceramic, and somewhere between 50 and 35 percent.

Edit: the car is a 2011 128i slick top, Alpine White with a beige interior...if anyone was curious.

Would highly recommend ceramic. Went with 3M crystalline and I got cold on the way home... during August heat in the south with a black sensatec interior. $525 for 40% on the sides and 90% on the windshield and sunroof, worth every penny.

Got three sets of tires flipped - 2xRE71Rs, 1xEagle Sports…..hopefully the RE71s last until my A052s show up (apparently on the ocean somewhere at present).

Oil and filter change. LiquiMoly 0/40, WIX filter.

AND installed my AntiGravity battery. I’ll code it tomorrow when I do a brake fluid flush.
