E90 newbie with aftermarket product questions
Hello all. I've just received my 323i (black, sport pack, manual) and it's not a bad car at all. I'll be using is a daily driver so do want to go nuts on the mods just yet, but there are a few things I am considering:
>A K&N panel filter. What is the product number for this? >Exhaust. Are there any good exhaust options available for the 323 yet? >Chip. Again, is anything available yet? I realise this sounds a little fast n' furious, but they are simple mods that wont void the warranty and will help with the throttle response. I'll be putting on a light tint next week and will post up pics when she's got that. Cheers, Dino. |

1) Search the forum. There is already a thread with the part number.
2) What do you want with an exhaust? Looks, Power, Sound? With almost all exhausts available right now, you'll only be able to get a different look and a different sound. Power doesn't usually come with just an exhaust swap. But I have a secret. Check out Kito Auto Sports in Seattle Washington for a phenomenal set up . Actually, you can even ask one of the members, BhattiMalik, about it. He just got it done and it's amazing! 3) I believe Dinan has or will come out with one soon.

Thanks for the quik reply. I did a search but I was unable to find out if the 323 has the same airbox as the 325 and 330. If it is the same, then I need the 33-2332.
As for the exhaust, it's just a little too quiet so I'd like something with a more sporty tone. Thanks again, Dino |

Supersprint and AC Schnitzer have complete exhaust systems out for the E90, but they're both pretty pricey. I haven't seen any chips out yet for non-diesel cars.

Carefull. The 323 has a completely different engine from the 06 325 and 330 (M54 engine actually carried over from the E46 model for the 323 vs N52 engine on the 325 and 330).
Most engine and exhaust parts made for the E90 will not fit your 323. And donīt expect much to come out either. People looking for performance usually donīt go out and buy the 323 (although it is a fine car iwth a fine angine. just not much of a screamer). You might have to look into E46 parts for mods. The airfilter and a chip might be similar to the 325 E46. Good luck. BTW, a chip will definitely void your warranty. Air filter and exhaust usually donīt, unless they are directly responsible for damages (Or just leave your car as it is, personally I like stock looks, sound and performance a lot better)
