Yeah I know.... Very mixed emotions about the X3 to be honest with you.
Seems like one of those car that you either love it or hate it.

In April I bought my wife a 2006 2.5 X3 with 54,000km for $22,000 cash. It definitely is not the best SUV, its fine for her, but you can get some amazing deals for off lease cars through a lease broker. $38k seems pretty steep.

I found a dealership that is willing to almost trade me straight up for a 535i with about the same amount of mileage as I have on my 135i and its the same year. I am in the same predicament and need a bigger car as well. I think the 5 series should do me, have you looked into those?

I really wanted a SUV. We have a 540i and it a pain the the butt to get the dog in and out of his kennel. I also really wanted AWD. I guess the 1er tainted me on the RWD and I really really didn't want to have another Calgary Winter in my 128i
