Will they really void my warranty?
I want to go with a BMW performance intake for my 128i only because it looks good and keeps my warranty intact, however the Injen or AFe intakes are such good bargains in comparison.
Will my dealer really void my warranty? My SA says intakes are hardly ever the catalyst for any major problems but I wanna hear from personal experience. Any of you had any problems? |

I've had my injen intake for about 15k miles now. I've been to dealership so many times and it has never been mentioned for warranty. This includes when I get my injectors replaces because of engine ticking and also when they had to replace my AC system and my car was with them for a long time. If anything the technician was super nice and said I had one of the coolest 128i cause those are almost never moded.
As long as you the install correctly you have nothing to worry about. Now, if you drive into a lake and your engine dies because the intake sucked in water, better get your wallet open xD

I've had AFE intakes on all 3 of my 3-series cars (2001, 2003, and 2007); never had any issues with any of the 3 dealerships I've brought my cars to.
