Coolant mix or straight water?

Hi all. I am going to Watkins Glen this week for a HPDE and the temperature is suppose to be in the 90s and since we are all familiar with the overheating issue these engines have, my question is should I put a bottle of water wetter in with the coolant or replace the coolant with straight water? Or better yet water with a bottle of water wetter.

I have ran into only one overheating issue and that was last year at Pocono during ~85-86 degree weather. I am FBO but I run Map 2 during track days. The DCT also has it's own cooling line now instead of being integrated with the radiator.

Yes water itself has the highest heat capacity and you can definitely run straight distilled. Including some of that additive will probably reduce corrosion / rust.

Yeah that's what I am going to do. I'll be sure to change it out before it gets cold out too.

Much easier for the track to clean up if something happens too. Our org requires water, but only about half the people actually listen.

A mechanic (who is also an amateur racer) told me that pure water isn't a great idea because there is no lubrication for the water pump. However you can get better thermal trasfer by using higher % of water in the coolant mix.

I've tried running distilled water + water wetter; didn't notice any difference in track time water temperatures, so I switched back to BMW coolant. Engine is all stock.
