When can you get a serpentine belt replaced under maintenance warranty?
As the title states... I am wondering under what circumstances you can get the serpentine / accessory belt replaced under the maintenance warranty.
Thanks! |

I don't think there is any circumstance where you could get the belt replaced under the free maintenance program, as the belt is not a scheduled maintenance item (that I'm aware of). However, if your belt failed prematurely, I don't see why it wouldn't be covered under the regular warranty?

Belt Replacment
The best way to get a belt replaced is if you are under new car warranty and have an oil filter/cooler leak. Make sure to tell the service writer you have two complaints: 1) there is an oil leak at the front of the engine and 2) there is a belt squeak/squeal at times. Warranty will cover the leak and the belt should be considered consequential damage.
